A client's Orchid: probably Phalaenopsis amabillis, one of the moth orchids. I'd love a confirmation on this point, though.

The fresh, recently opened leaves of a Ginko tree on my client's property, which I park beside.
I love spring! New life and growth, the warmer weather, seeing the sun again and the influx and activity of bird life...
Seeing the tiny, new Ginko leaves are no exception. I have often noted how beautiful the leaf structure is, and with the lighter shade of spring green, this year I finally attempted to capture it in a captivating way!
I recently found out that the Ginko leaf is also medicinal. Ginkgo biloba is rich in antioxidants, can reduce inflammation, benefit heart health, brain function, and eye health, etc..
I continue to be juggling more in life than I ideal, and find it hard to find time for one of my favourite past-times: enjoying your shots on Flickr!! I am hoping the load will feel lighter when I finish homeschooling in a week or so.
Happy belated Mother's Day and Father's Day!!

A few nights ago, while I was working at a client's office in Aberdeen, I took this photo of Dunnottar Castle, while enjoying an evening walk along the coastal path that leads to the castle from Stonehaven, a charming town in Aberdeenshire.
I took this photo while I was caught in a light rain shower, which only lasted for a few minutes. Despite getting wet, it was well worth it.

Today I was at my client's home capturing an outdoor family photo session in their yard when I happen to look to my left and see this curious mule watching me, at least she wasn't a jack ass

My submission for 52frames. Subject: "In the middle".
_______________
I know that I haven't been on as much. To be honest, I've been busy and when I am doing a photo site I'm doing my 52frames challenges.. *which is what this is* or personal photo sessions for clients.
I am aware that I am very behind on comments... and here and there I hop on and I return some.. but I am still active, just not as much as I'd like.
Honestly when I am on the computer (its only in the morning) UNLESS I have a client's photos to take care of, then I will jump on in the evenings. But Juan and I save evenings mostly for OUR time to cuddle and watch movies together.. (Netflix, Hulu & Tubi). We love movies in the evening together. It's kind of like OUR time. And in the day time, I do my errands so I literally am only on the laptop in the mornings.
Anyway, I am doing well. Much happier and at peace with everything. I'm ready for Christmas *finally*. Just have to wrap the gifts. We are going to have a great Christmas this year, and for that I am very grateful.
I hope that you all have a fantastic holiday!
I'll be 35 on New Years Day. *Time flies* Most of my life was spent in addiction.. It feels almost like I woke up and I was 32 (about to be 33). And that kind of sucks. But I'm grateful that I made it out alive. It's just weird, like 'where did all of that time go?'. But I'm here now, and that's ALL that matters.
Grateful every day. Praising God daily. I couldn't have done it without him. Juan and I are both so grateful. Thanks again everryone. God bless and happy holidays!

We have been very lucky to have spotted (and when I say we - I mean mostly Hammer - I've spotted only 1) quite a few Barred Owls this past winter. I still get to photograph them though, so definitely not complaining!!
This one was posing close to the side of the road when we drove by. I used my car as a blind, snapped a few pix and we were quickly on our way. This was close to dusk.
Shot wide open at F4 in an attempt to blur the forest background.
Dropping in to say hi, and to let you all know I'm doing well. Just working on client's income tax returns, so very busy.
Hope everyone is good and enjoying spring. The weather here is not co-operating as of yet!! xx

1/4th landscape for a client. Complete with family hang out area/pool, movie area, camp grounds and a few cuddle areas.
This afternoon I finished a client's report, hit send, and then fled the city for some fresh air along a favourite creek, in a favourite gorge

When I worked privately with clients, it was important to me to talk about the client's present home. I often wished I could visit the homes before I ever did work with the client. But it was hard for most people to understand, So I did my work stealthily, face-to-face. One's home surroundings reveal one's soul. Renovations reveal the depth of the soul. Therefore, "flipping" is a fascinating concept.
I've loved this house, across the street from me, for a long time, But it so needed work. I'm rejoicing now because renovations and reconstruction are underway! I feel I can tell quite a bit about the new owner, whom I've never met.
Why I love my neighbourhood, Suffolk Street, Guelph, Ontario
Mercedes-Benz introduced its S Series as a 6.8-liter fast tourer in 1927. Designed by chief engineer Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, it featured a 'kick-down' supercharger that temporarily boosted acceleration and produced what the British magazine The Motor described as 'a threatening high-pitched whine.' Competition versions of the Mercedes-Benz 690S excelled in endurance racing and helped sell these road-going touring cars to sporting-minded drivers around the world.
The merger between Daimler and Benz was the result of Germany's post-World War I depression, a process that began in 1925 and was formally consummated on June 26th of 1926. This brought integration between the two product lines, manufacturing, and management, but it also brought an end to racing endeavors. Competition was sidelined but performance remained paramount and a key ingredient in Mercedes products. The engineering talents of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, Hans Nibel, and Fritz Nallinger were instrumental in the development of the Mercedes-Benz Type S, a successor to the 6,256 cubic centimeter Model K, and a model that was paramount in establishing the credentials of Mercedes-Benz as a Paragon of high-performance luxury automobile manufacture.
The engine continued to use six cylinders and single overhead camshafts from its Model K predecessor, but with a displacement size of 6,789 cubic centimeters, dual carburetors, larger valves, a higher compression ratio, and a larger Roots-type supercharger that delivered 7-psi boost when engaged. It had an aluminum alloy block with a cast-iron head and was rated 26/120/180 horsepower, the numbers denoting the engine's taxable, naturally aspirated, and supercharged horsepower ratings. . It used the dimensions of the Model K chassis, but with the engine moved rearward by 30 cm and the frame was lowered significantly. The low-slung double-drop chassis carried a large radiator at the front and typically wore rakish, sporty, and purposeful coachwork. The engine was backed by a four-speed manual gearbox.
The Model S (also known as the 680 S) was introduced at the opening meeting of the Nurburgring in 1927, where Rudolf Caracciola established the vehicle's sporting credential by earning a class victory, the first of many accolades for the model. Caracciola and his teammate, Adolf Rosenberger, would secure many hill climb and tournament trophies throughout the 1927 racing season. In America, Ralph de Palma drove an 'S' to victory in the 15 and 30-mile races at Atlantic City, averaging 80mph.
The Mercedes-Benz Model S represented the pinnacle of performance, luxury, and style of the era. Its price tag in excess of $7,000 - sans coachwork - guaranteed their exclusivity. Just 146 examples were built between 1927 and 1930, many finding homes around the globe from royalty to celebrity. It was available with factory or 'Sindelfingen' coachwork or as a rolling chassis to be clothed by prominent coachbuilders in configurations of the client's choice. Most examples were bodied by the Sindelfingen factory and each shared the extremely low hood line that is longer than the coachwork behind it, along with three curved, external exhaust pipes.

After travelling over fifty miles to the Cotswold Water Park, which I had heard was good for birds, and coming away after six hours with just a handful of shots of a Great Tit I was, to say the least a little miffed. Especially when I turned up to work at a regular client's house only to find that this chap and his partner had set up home in a hole in a dead fruit tree and were busily feeding their hungry brood. The female flies straight into the nest but the male reliably perches for a few moments on a small branch before delivering the food allowing me to stand behind another tree just 3metres away and snap away merrily. During my last session I was there for around forty minutes and he visited about eight times with the female doing the same amount meaning that there should soon be some very healthy fledglings making themselves known. Just hope they time it so that I am around too.

Cover all video and pics for SL events and personal shoots!!
This is a test shot from yesterday's shoot at a client's Flower Shop. I still need to make adjustments in the lighting but It seems as if Fuji and Flash get along quite well. :-)
Here's a recent custom piece I did (shown here with client's permission).
My client said "I want our camp to look like somewhere my family has been to before, but also, somehow, has not! Like a dream!"
Well, she was speaking my language right there as that exactly the mode I work in...in fact, that's my new tagline "as if in a dream".
This one was challenging but resulted in a very happy client...I can't ask for more than that.
By, the way, how great is this place?!
