Because we had not seen them outside our awning they started getting there own food from the feeding station and even got all the grain out of a feeder
Sometimes I crave something clever, something conceptual,

..makes a hole in the feeding place and digs another hole right down below...but that was not intended dear little mouse!
A snowy egret using an alligator as a fishing raft, this way it can get to the fish in the deeper water.
If you speak to the locals they say that the alligators are not interested in the birds, all feathers and bones with not much meat, some are known to knock birds out of their nests during breeding season though so a bit of a gamble I would say.

Pad's has quite canny fur in that it shapes to points in rain and water just runs off without penetrating .. a quick shake and he's nearly dry ... useful in a tent in that you get a soggy damp dog rather than a soaking wet one:)
