Or is it? If a picture is worth a thousand words what comes to mind when one sees this composite photo made from a sequence of shots of a Red-tailed Hawk that I took? The first shot of the sequence is on the left and the last is on the right. A systemic approach in finding prey inside a nest box? The real answer is quite surprising - but I'll leave it to viewer's imagination. After the hawk left I gently tapped the lid back into position.
This is my clear acrylic box w/clear round handle that holds my cotton balls. It lives in the bathroom cabinet, but came out for a visit to the dining room table photo studio. lol.. It’s refracting/reflecting the Minion behind it a few times. HSoS
CSX local L400 calls a slow clear out of the yard and siding at West Skillman as they had for the Big Rivers Industrial Park to work Southwire, Watco, and Precoat Metals. GP40-2 6045 is leading today, after the crew dropped CSX 800 off at the office.

How I spent my Wednesday evening...
It turned out clear again this evening and I'm not going to pass up on the chance to stand for an hour in a freezing mill yard waiting for a star trail sequence to finish....
This is 150 x 25 second exposures at ISO640 pushing the dark stuff using an ISO invariant camera.
As I've said before a trip round Oban bay wouldn't be the same without these guys.
This one was busy pottering along the shoreline as usual. Although the light was behind the bird, I liked the reflection it made. The clarity and transparency of the water in it's shadow makes this shot for me.

Looking across frozen Wascana Lake at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building. The sun doesn’t get very high this time of year.
These birds are often very vocal and this one was none the less so.
She is situated very close to the home of my favourite barnie and so was a lovely diversion from my failed owl watching.
I only saw this little bird due to her endless calling, as again another ground nesting bird showed how they protect the young by drawing predators away.
Sadly the light and distance were not in my favour, but despite this I was quite pleased with the end result.
Sadly still no sign of barnie though I did spot what looked suspiciously like a shortie about to stoop as I passed by on the main road last night.
On another plus we spotted a new owl with gorgeous dark gold upper wings, on our way over last night. sadly i was unable to stop the car for a pic, but another visit may be in order.

South Clear Creek strings the Hermit Lakes in the distance with the Brown Lakes in the foreground on its way to a confluence with North Clear Creek. The lakes in the foreground are in the Brown Lakes State Wildlife Area.

On the horizon the Rio Grande Pyramid rises to 13,821 feet. The Pyramid in in the remote Weminuche Wilderness.
Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while, so that we can see life with a clearer view again. ~Alex Tan
