A big CA (clear air) lightning bolt taken a few weeks back here in Melbourne, Australia from a winter storm setup!! Something I probably wont see again in Melbourne... especially on a winter setup! haha. Just insane.

The volcano Antisana is 5700 meters high. It is a Stratovulkan and is located in the area of the eastern Cordilleras in Ecuador. The volcano is active, which is why clear, cold water and hot and mineral water are emerging from its rocks. In a side valley you can find the most beautiful thermal baths. Rarely has a clear mountain view. We were very lucky, because the glaciers of the Antisana appeared close to the sun.
The park Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, in Porto, has lots of chickens, geese, ducks and peafowls walking around. They are very used to people, so you can get really close.

This is a clear morning in Jasper national park, and I almost give up shooting sunrise, because of the cloudless sky, however, a moment of sunshine suddenly breaks through the remote mountains and lightens up the foreground ice, I especially love the textures and rocks.
A tank full of petrol in the Today - Tomorrow - Toyota Corolla. The R44 Clarence Drive heading south along False Bay, a clear road ahead and KFM on the radio.... and it feels like heaven...

On my way back to St Jodok I saw that the valley had cleared up, no more clouds in the valley and everything looked fantastic and above all very fresh. Fresh snow, lots of fresh snow and it was still snowing very lightly.
I was very satisfied with the LKW Walter KLV en route to Italia. Taurus with two Vectron in a friendly bend.

This one makes me think of crystal clear pool water when the sun shines on it. My son says it looks like lightening flipped upside down...

Or is it? If a picture is worth a thousand words what comes to mind when one sees this composite photo made from a sequence of shots of a Red-tailed Hawk that I took? The first shot of the sequence is on the left and the last is on the right. A systemic approach in finding prey inside a nest box? The real answer is quite surprising - but I'll leave it to viewer's imagination. After the hawk left I gently tapped the lid back into position.
I went down to the lighthouse and was hoping for a glorious sunset with some epic clouds. Well that didn't happen as you can see and I had to improvise. I decided to wait for the sun to hit the mountains on Vancouver Island to make a Sunstar / Starburst. It's one way to help decorate a plain cloudless sky!! Kris
As the sun declined, I discovered these two cup agrions in this face-to-face encounter.
When night falls, these damselflies group together on common or nearby supports, and hide behind them with their long silhouettes when they detect a presence.
Enallagma cyathigerum, the cutting agrion, is a species of odonate insect that belongs to the European damselflies.
Agrions colonise the banks of clear, slow-flowing, well-oxygenated watercourses that receive plenty of sunlight.
The main threat to the agrionid is the modification of its habitat by man (mowing, dredging, water pollution). A National Action Plan for dragonflies was set up in 2010, with the aim of acquiring new knowledge about the ecology of the species in order to improve the protection of its habitat.

This is my clear acrylic box w/clear round handle that holds my cotton balls. It lives in the bathroom cabinet, but came out for a visit to the dining room table photo studio. lol.. It’s refracting/reflecting the Minion behind it a few times. HSoS

CSX local L400 calls a slow clear out of the yard and siding at West Skillman as they had for the Big Rivers Industrial Park to work Southwire, Watco, and Precoat Metals. GP40-2 6045 is leading today, after the crew dropped CSX 800 off at the office.

As I've said before a trip round Oban bay wouldn't be the same without these guys.
This one was busy pottering along the shoreline as usual. Although the light was behind the bird, I liked the reflection it made. The clarity and transparency of the water in it's shadow makes this shot for me.

Just how i feel :-) Julies dad has got the all clear and my mum is home from hospital (though she will never be the wonderful vibrant person she was)
What a difference a day makes. After crystal clear blue skies we awoke to low dense clouds. Stopping at a marina for a few shots I was stunned to see a couple of boats venturing out. It was a very different kind of beautiful day in coastal Maine
....when you can see clearly, new opportunities appear ....
I found this secret place last Weekend on my walk ;-) I have to return here very soon ....but at time, the heavy snow prepares problems ....it is difficult to walk this path in deep snow ....
