Clear- cutting the forest on the mountain foothills just outside Courtenay in the Comox Valley Vancouver island.
Non sapersi orientare in una città non vuol dire molto.
Ma smarrirsi in essa, come ci si smarrisce in una foresta, è una cosa tutta da imparare.

Psalm 78:50 “He cleared a path for His anger.
He did not spare them from death
but delivered their lives to the plague.”

A sky disappeared into a blanket of grey and one last glimpse of the sun as it danced across a rock pool. Clear Spot by Captain Beefheart is a favourite track for a very serene shot.
Who ever coined the phrase 'Busy Bees' was absolutely right, trying to get the shot of a sunflowers head without bee's was just impossible, so 'Clear the Runway' the bees are landing, seemed very appropriate.

A male hooded merganser (Lophodytes cucullatus) sprints across the surface of a lake picking up speed to go airborne. A female created the splashes in the foreground, but is already out of the frame- very speedy birds! Hooded mergansers are visitors during our winter, but breed in the NE US and SE Canada. Despite being awkward waddlers on land they nest in trees adjacent to ponds.
A Least Bittern breaks free of the bulrushes as it launches from one strand of reeds to another on the opposite bank of Horsepen Bayou.
Watching these mallard ducks land on the ice the other day was hilarious!! Photo taken at the Reiffel bird sanctuary in B.C., Canada.
This picture was taken in the half light of the early dawn. As well as the foreground you can just make out the sheer 'cauldron' of the Drakensbergs. Unfortunately there was a bush fire and consequently a lot of smoke so we never got a clear view. However, I think it added to the atmosphere of this very early morning shot.
