I saw this very interesting statue of whom I don't know, but I love the design .

I just blew some dust of my jupiter and went for some moody shots.

I hope you'll find this one a little more original. It follows the same principles as the LiS style, but I tried to ratchet up the eye candy without sacrificing productivity.

The obvious centrepiece is the Samurize config, which I started ages ago after being inspired by this. It's very sci-fi, of course, but in the best sense: everything has a purpose. Those arcs are actually displaying the time and date, my CPU, RAM, battery and network usage, the space on my laptop, external drive and iPod, and iTunes' song progress.

That black strip on the left has a purpose, too. Care to guess?

You can see a few other Rainmeter widgets scattered throughout, including the fake border on the bottom. The track info is a CD Art Display skin stripped down to the bare necessities.

Finally, the icons on the right are an experimental auto-hidden Rocketdock layout. I'm still in the process of trying to make Rocketdock do something useful, so for the moment, consider it a visual placeholder.

Another minor update to the Lightning Sunset series. I've been experimenting with Rainmeter, and have managed to duplicate and (in my opinion) improve upon my Samurize config. I don't expect to look back.

I strongly encourage you to view this full-size, to get a good look at Rainmeter's gorgeous anti-aliasing.

I'm still using D-Color and Xentient, but the truth is I do prefer a clean, iconless desktop when I can manage it.

I realize this gradual progression isn't very interesting for most people, so I'm putting together some ideas for a completely different interface. I'll be dusting off some of my old Samurize experiments for it (probably with Rainmeter ports to come). It'll also be white. Just for fun.

- Cube Wallpapers: Temple Street Sky by Mandolux. It's a single seamless skyscape that spans four desktops - ideal, in other words, for a cube. Unlike karindalziel, I use my virtual desktops not as "stations" but as a single cohesive workspace. To each his own, of course.

I was trying out tjmarkham3's Dynamic rainmeter skin, which is a mix of HUD.Vision, 10 Foot HUD, and Enigma rainmeter skins. Just doing a feature on his nicely modded Arcs Config, with Clickable icons around the Arc, to show you basic info, including Battery, Mail, HD space for 3 drives, time, RAM, CPU usage, date, and wireless info.

This is my desktop at the moment. I like to keep it simple and clean, as little distractions as possible.

Many people say that icons on your desktop are messy and make it cluttered. Well i decided to use them anyway, because I wouldn't have to install something on my computer.

It works extremely well.

But then after making this desktop I realized that he just has good idea's and I don't come up with them as fast. But either way I have to give him credit for my setup I bring you today. 1] Use Compaq's built in System recovery tool to revert back to "factory condition."

(I don't have a disk copy of Windows XP; that would have been nice though...)

2] Clean off Compaq's "factory condition" (read: useless, outdated) software using RevoUninstaller and some old-fashioned file deleting.

3] Install Firefox, w/ AdBlock Plus, Flashblock, and Prism. Disable access to IE.

4] Install MSE.

5] Download preposterous amounts of Windows updates. (Also update WMP, usefull for syncing non-Apple media players.)

6] Install relevant software: VLC, OpenOffice, Foxit, GIMP, etc.

7] Patch Uxtheme.dll. Download CleanGlass VS, a non-seizure inducing wallpaper, and Stardock's Fences.

Startup time: Apprx. 0:01:12. (0:1:08 without Fences.) I welcome any and all suggestions to improve that time; I'm rather new at this and don't have a clue what "ALCMTR.exe" and "jusched" are...

-No Adobe products, excepting the Flash plugin for Firefox

-No Apple software, excepting Quicktime plugins.

-No *ahem* Symantec.

-All free. I feel like I have accomplished something...
