It always makes my day when I see Mr Clark sitting near his urban garden. All those flowers behind him are his. He always has something nice to say and when I asked if I could take his photo he quickly said yes.
The Clark's Nutcracker is a very cool bird to experience. They are also an important part of the ecosystem in Coniferous forests of the Rocky Mountains and the Cascades. This bird is unique in that a single individual can store as many as 100,000 seeds in a single year, many of these seeds that they stash for food reserves end up in a favorable place to germinate and form new trees. without the Clarks Nutcracker forest cycles could very well suffer. for these reasons it is considered a specialist and a keystone species.

A Clarke's Grebe at the local inlet. ✔️
This black-and-white grebe is a bird of Western lakes and coastlines. We only see them at the Pacific Coast during the winter, since they typically breed and then spend the summer in freshwater inland lakes away from the coast.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Western Grebe and Clark's Grebe are almost identical but are different species or regarded as subspecies.
Info: 'Clark's grebe... have whiter flanks and paler gray backs when comparing (to western grebe)... The western grebe has black around the eyes and a straight greenish-yellow bill whereas the Clark's grebe has white around the eyes and an up-turned bright yellow bill.' - Western grebe, wiki
'Western and Clark's Grebe were only split into two distinct species in 1985, as prior to that, they were regarded as one species. The two species are very similar, especially in their winter plumage when their primary differentiating characteristic (facial pattern) becomes nearly identical (much less dark around the eye in winter-plumaged Western Grebes). Winter-plumaged birds are best distinguished by bill color... Also note that intermediate birds are often seen. I was fortunate to get the opportunity to observe and photograph this bird for several minutes. It was rather tolerant of my presence and was solitary. Western Grebes in the area were paired up. In my area Clark's are significantly less common than Western Grebes and I consider it a good day when I encounter one. Market Lake WMA, Roberts, Idaho
Continuing my set of waterfowl images with this Clark's Grebe. This grebe species looks very similar to its close cousin, Western Grebe. Tomorrow I'll post a Western Grebe for comparison and a tip on the easy way to tell the two species apart.
