The building with the impressive roof on the left is the Yantai Railway Station. In the right background is the CIMC Raffles shipyard with four offshore drilling rigs under construction. The taller of the two gantry cranes is "Taisun" (泰山 tàishān), the World's largest gantry crane with a lifting capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes. Taken from the viewing platform of the Yantai Lighthouse.
Stitched panorama from 18 photos, taken at 112 mm focal length (35mm equivalent). When doing panoramas with telephoto focal lengths, one always ends up stitching many images. Horizontal field of view is about 160°. Size reduced for upload. To see all the details: XXL view definitely is a must for this image.

After relieving the night shift crew who brought Southern Shorthaul Railroad's service 8148 down from Lithgow overnight, an opportunity for a quick grab shot was taken of our train in the beautiful morning light at Enfield prior to our departure time for Port Botany. With less than a month old, FIE004; still looking resplendent on the lead with sister units FIE003 & FIE001. Seen here in the Staging Roads at Enfield, 11th December 2022. SSR service 8148 is operated on behalf of Fletcher International Exports from their terminal in Dubbo. Predominantly running as 8148 Dubbo to Port Botany and 1847 on the return. Fletcher International Exports (FIE) purchased 3x GE C44ACi 4500hp locomotives from UGL, classed FIE & numbered 001-003. Including 62x 60ft (19.4m) container wagons from CIMC Australia, classed FRAY & numbered 0001-0062 in 2014. With further growth and heavier trains, FIE purchased another GE C44ACi locomotive, FIE004 and was delivered to FIE & SSR ex trials on the 16th November 2022.

From Ships Monthly:
Swedish shipping company Wallenius Lines recently took delivery of the first vessel in a new series of pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) built by CIMC Raffles of China. Future Way was designed jointly by Wallenius Lines subsidiary Wallenius Marine and Danish naval architecture firm Knud E. Hansen in compliance with DNV class rules.
“This belongs to the Sleipner concept, which is a concept with high-capacity workhorse vessels that are also energy-efficient,” Dan Reineck, Project Manager with Wallenius Marine’s Ship Design, Newbuilding and Innovation division, told Baird Maritime.
“We wanted a ship with its fuel consumption as low as possible and as little ballast as possible. In this particular case, the ship was designed to satisfy the requirements of our customer, the Volkswagen Group, which wanted a vehicle carrier with a capacity of 6,500 cars.”
The PCTC has a length of 199.95m (656ft), a beam of 37m (120ft), a draught of 9.5m (31ft), a depth of 13.4m (44ft), and an aerodynamically optimised bow that can reduce wind resistance.
Reineck said that cargo hold fans have also been installed to generate as little wind resistance as possible. The upper hull and the superstructure were also designed to have as few protruding parts as possible, which can help minimise fuel consumption.
A number of features have also been incorporated to reduce the vessel’s environmental footprint and thus eliminate the need for it to carry any ballast water when fully loaded. The structure has been optimised to make the total weight even lower, thus ensuring lower fuel consumption.
“There is also a centre ramp in the cargo hold,” added Reineck. “This feature helps save weight while making loading more efficient.”
The propulsion setup includes a 6S60ME-C10 dual-fuel engine from MAN, a fixed-pitch propeller, and a twisted leading edge rudder with a rudder bulb and fairing cone to ensure greater efficiency.
Reineck said the PCTC itself can accommodate a battery installation in the future to further reduce emissions during navigation, though a shore connection is already fitted to enable the vessel to draw electrical power from the local grid while berthed.
Future Way will be operated under charter with the Volkswagen Group along with sister ship Way Forward, which is scheduled to be delivered before the end of this year. Wallenius Marine will be responsible for ship management of the vessels, which will transport cars on behalf of Volkswagen across the Atlantic from Europe to the US East Coast and back again.
Florida East Coast Railway 3PM job with FEC GP40-2 413 is seen here doubling the outbound cut of Waste Management trash containers to send north on the night's 290, using the Old Balloon of Hialeah Yard to gather the cars.
The containers are 45' purpose built (from CIMC I think) and open top. The first containers appear to be empty with no tarp coverage actually...
This ship was designed by the Chinese company CIMC Raffles to carry super yachts and began its service in Palma in June 2022. It is semi-submersible (that is, it partially lowers itself into the water to allow yachts to navigate into its loading bay), has a length of 213 meters offers 6000 square-meters of load surface. This vessel is the largest yacht carrier in the world. On his first journey, it transported 29 yachts between 30 and 60 meters from Palma to Florida. It is estimated that it will carry about 400 yachts between the Mediterranean and the USA every year.
If you zoom in, you can see that it is fully loaded with yachts and ready to leave.

A New car carrier, Blue Heritage, on its way down the River Thames, having just left its berth at Tilbury Docks' roll on roll off terminal.
Blue Heritage was built in Singapore and launched earlier this year. It was built by CIMC Raffles, a good start. It may have been built using laser composite welding, which sounds good but I've no idea what it is. It's 200m by 38m.
It sails on 'dual fuel' which seems to mean it can use both conventional (diesel) and alternative, greener fuel like liquefied natural gas; it has LNG on its hull so I assume that is its fuel. I mentioned before how quiet these ships are and this one glided by almost silently.
Strangely, it sailed just as the tide on the river was turning; you can see the tide is low here, but there must have been enough water there, so why not ?
I've no idea where it got its name from: I suppose it meant something to someone.

Retirement age: still active sep. 2018
Photo location: Motorway 501 (Aarhus Syd Motorvejen), Viby J, Aarhus, DK
Going down the steep hill leading northeast into Aarhus. The motorway ends by Åhavevej in Viby. From here, the trucks can continue straight on to Marselis Boulevard across Skanderborgvej before ending at the port of Aarhus, 6 km from here.
Tip: to locate trucks of particular interest to you, check my collections page, "truck collection" (www.flickr.com/photos/lavulv/collections/72157684190396672/ ) - here you will find all trucks organized in albums, by haulier (with zip-codes), year, brand and country.
Retirement age for trucks: many used trucks are offered for sale on international markets. If sold to a foreign buyer, this will not be listed in the danish motor registry, so a "retired" truck may or may not have been exported. In other words, the "retirement age" only shows the age, at which the truck stopped running on danish license plates.
