"Cielo a pecorelle, pioggia a catinelle" is an Italian expression, mostly used in Tuscany, to indicate that a certain type of cloud (many small ones) will precede lots of rain.
This is not the case in this image, but it is what I thought of when took the picture. And in any case, there is LOTS of rain around the equator on a regular basis!
Somewhere in the desert of Southern California is a tower of glass and steel. Inside that tower is Cielo.
