Herzogenaurach is the place from where the Dassler brothers come, later known as Puma and Adidas.
La chapelle a Ć©tĆ© construite au XVIe siĆØcle en contrebas du chĆ¢teau de la Faye par Bertrand Arnal de la Faye, abbĆ© commendataire de Terrasson entre 1520 et 1541.
Ć partir de l'analyse des blasons sculptĆ©s sur les clĆ©s de la chapelle, M. et G. Ponson la datent du XVe siĆØcle. Le blason ouest est en deux parties, en 1, celui de la famille de La Cropte, en 2, celui de la famille Arnal qui a pris ensuite le nom de La Faye. Ils en dĆ©duisent que la chapelle a Ć©tĆ© construite en 1470, par Antoinette de La Cropte et Raymond Arnal de Montignac. Le blason oriental serait celui de Bertrand de La Cropte, curĆ© d'Auriac en 1406 et Ć©vĆŖque de Sarlat entre 1416 et 1446.
PlacĆ©e sous le patronage de saint RĆ©my, rĆ©putĆ© pour ĆŖtre guĆ©risseur, elle fait l'objet d'un pĆØlerinage.
La chapelle a Ć©tĆ© vendue comme bien national le 3 frimaire an III (23 novembre 1794) Ć Pierre Reynal.
EugĆØne Le Roy dĆ©crit le pĆØlerinage dans son roman Jacquou le Croquant[ : Ā« Le 23 aoĆ»t Ć©tait le jour de dĆ©votion Ć saint RĆ©my - sent Remedi en occitan - un saint guĆ©risseur que venaient implorer les boiteux, hernieux, fiĆ©vreux, aveugles, galeux, ... . La chapelle qui contenait une statue du saint Ć©tait fermĆ©e en temps ordinaire. Les malades se frottaient alors contre le mur. Les jours de dĆ©votion la chapelle Ć©tait ouverte, permettant aux fidĆØles d'entrer Ā».
En 2017, le pĆØlerinage autour de la chapelle a Ć©tĆ© effectuĆ© par une cinquantaine de personnes.

this is another shot from yesterday's outing after my vist to corby crags i headed to the coast, with the tide being out i decided to go to holy island. the shot is of lindisfarne castle. the castle was built in the 16th century on top of a volcanic mound known as beblowe crag. thank you for taking the time to look. christian island gordon lightfoot
