“At the End of the Trail”

At the end of the trail, you can take many different directions. Which way should you go? One can even turn around and go back the other way.
These black bear cubs in Cades Cove, Tennessee, knew the best way.
What you don’t see in this photograph is the one who knows the best way to go—mama bear. The cubs just need to follow.
The same is with following Jesus. He knows the right path for you and will guide you. We need to be willing. Sometimes we think we know what's best only to turn out it isn’t. The choices of our own volition can have a detrimental effect.
Are you following Him?
It’s as simple as ABC. A — Admit that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23)
B — Believe that Jesus, God’s only son, was born and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 16:31)
C — Confess and repent of your sins and ask Him to be Lord of your life. (1 John 1:9)

Backstory:
I enjoyed watching this large male bear shove his face full of grass as he tried to fatten up after his winter sleep. He contemplated his thoughts about last year before climbing over the log:)

I reflected on the year behind me, and 2022 proved challenging with glimpses of sunshine.
The build of our forever home kept being delayed by our builder. Our bank said our builder asked for $70,000 over what our house was worth—scratch that builder. Now we have none.
There were two beautiful snows—one in January and one in March. God decorated His creation in a blanket of snow which makes it even prettier.
I received my COVID booster shot in the spring, which was quite a disaster. The shot knicked my nerve and went in so deep it made the outer part of my bone swell. I was in a lot of pain and lost a month of health out of my life.
We were blessed to leave our tiny apartment and move into a rental home. The house is just perfect for us and our pets. The Lord couldn't have done a better job of picking the perfect place for us.
I lost my father and mother-in-law this year. My mother-in-law was like a mom to me since my mom’s passing in 2004.
The Blue Angels came to town, and I enjoyed photographing them for a few days. We even had a Blue Angels party at our house with some friends. The planes flew rights over our house and made the windows rattle.
To end on a happy more, since we weren't immediately building a house, my hubby let me buy a new mirrorless camera. I'll spend forever mastering it.

My best of nine photos I posted this year showcase the beauty and splendor of Cades Cove. Funny how all my top images were taken in the Cove. The Cove is my second home. I feel close to God while outside in the beauty He created.
These photos bring back so many memories—that’s what I love about photography!
The top middle photo is a video of three cubs strolling down Loop Road with their momma. The two deer photos are the same because a hub on Instagram shared my picture on their hub.

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?

Kids do chores...including their laundry.
The kids from Sankey Mission Orphanage participate in serving others that are not as fortunate to live as they do. Also, while we stayed with them, they absolutely showered us with their love. An amazing place where one can sense the love of Christ moving...

Was hoping to get a shot of the dog and only 3 pipes. Each time I got close, the dog would back away into the shadows. I backed up to take the shot and the kid shows up and points at the dog. PERFECT moment!

I Love Christmas. However, I was reminded of this song I heard a while back by Nat King Cole and honestly it has to be the most depressing “Christmas” song and honestly I don’t know why it’s considered a Christmas song anyway as it’s titled “the little boy who Santa Claus forgot”…and it tells a story of what Santa forgot to bring this little boy. As I recall he didn't get toys, didn't a family, etc.

No, I’m not trying to depress you because in reality, Christmas should be full of celebration, joy, hope and wonder because God did not forget you and I!

He is Emanuel, God with us just as the Scripture says. Jesus is also the prince of peace and we celebrate His entry into the World during Christmas…the most incredible birth and birthday ever!

While I know it doesn’t always feel like the most wonderful time of the year as it can be a very tough time for many, my prayer for all of us is that we remember that God didn’t and won’t ever leave or forsake us. He sent Jesus to save us…to be Emanuel!
_
So, no matter how Christmas might feel at times, may you be filled with Hope this Christmas remembering God is with you, He loves you, He won’t ever leave of forsake you, He knows your name and knows what you’re going through. He is with you. Let Him be Emanuel to you because that is Who He is. Merry Christmas!

This statement made me laugh recently so I thought I'd share it with you. :) We are to walk by faith and not by site yet that doesn't mean we should stand idle unless God tells you too do so.
Sometimes we try to convince ourselves that inactivity in each circumstance is what we are to do but we forget that He's still prepared a work for us to do day-to-day and we need to walk in the work He has for us. If you are on the road God has for you, keep stepping out in faith lest you get run over by life my friends because life continues on at each juncture. :) Don't just stand there... Do something... Unless of course God has given you a season of rest and that's a different story. (hint... River rose 2+ feet in less than 1 - 1/2 hrs. Boats sinking, docks and shallow-water bamboo huts collapse and wash away. Got out of the boats just as our dock/hut collapsed.
