Having been booked through the main, 20142 Sir John Betjeman and 20007 rolled through platform 1 with 5Q20 Kirkdale CS to Crewe CS, bringing Merseyrail units 77014 and 777006 down. Blue pair 20189 and 20205 were on the rear.
Not what you expect when you stick your head over the parapet at Eastleigh a British Railways green class 20 whistling its way south under your feet.
To be fair, I knew 0Z20 had left Leicester around the same time I left Sheffield yesterday, and although I had concluded catching it en route would not be possible, I only missed it by 5 minutes as I drove past Hinksey. With reversal at Reading and the roads being the shorter route, via Newbury I had a good chance of catching it at Eastleigh. All was going well as we hit the M3 at Winchester and very little traffic, however shortly after we ground to a halt. Ditching the car near Eastleigh station the headlamps loomed in the mist in the distance as 20007 and 20142 headed towards me in the rain. 70813 sits to the right at the head of the engineers yard.

With 8 ex-Anglia Mk3's that were part way through being refurbished for Chiltern behind them, 20118 Saltburn-by-the-Sea and 20132 Barrow Hill Depot roar over Defford with 5X20 Eastleigh T&RSMD to Long Marston, the later running helping as it allowed the sun to creep further round.

Nothing tame about 20205 and 20007 absolutely flying along the Up Derby Fast running as 0M16 Plymouth to Derby seen passing over the River Tame at Bromford Bridge. The pair were running 115 minutes down at this point due to a broken down train at Taunton but were certainly trying to make up time.

In the bay platform at Fareham we see privately owned Class 20s No. 142 and 007. The train was about to work 0Z24 13:43 Fareham to Fareham Via Eastleigh running 40 early. The locos were being operated by SLC operations in aid of route learning. The route learning is for IOW Train crews leaning the route between Eastleigh and Fareham. The route was being learned for use of class 484s testing between Eastleigh and Fareham.
his coat is super soft in contrast to the choppers. hard to tell here but he's done a nice job on the seat covers.
With the sun perfectly placed, unlike a certain banner repeater, 20227 Sherlock Holmes and 20189 lead 1T53 Stratford-upon-Avon to Birmingham Snow Hill through Dorridge.

20302 and 20312 sit at Gilberdyke waiting for the off with crew having changed ends , working the 1409 Hull - York Thrall Europa RHTT with maybe into the middle of next week to run before the season finishes.
Having set off from Sheffield in bright sunshine , travelling on the M18 things soon changed when the snow showers started but nothing to write home about , then a heavy snow shower descended on Gilberdyke , on the way home 5 miles outside Gilberdyke hardly a flake..

Passing Saltley, 20007 and 20142 Sir John Betjeman make up 0Z20 Butterley MRC to Kings Norton On Track Plant Depot. The 20's look to be being used as a route learner, with a camera in the left window of the cab. With 20142 in its usual immaculate condition, 20007 looks a bit shabby when paired up with is.

20305 leads 20302 off the Harrogate line at Armley Junction, Leeds, with 1Z49 the 'DRS Class 20 Farewell'. This tour certainly brought out the crowds, normally when I’m photographing around Leeds I don’t see another soul sharing the hobby, but yesterday I was jostling for position in a couple of spots.
