Made these with white and dark chocolate, I should have added another layer or made the layers thicker. It was a bit difficult to get them out of the liner, maybe I should have used silicon ones but I only had the paper liners.

The name Droste has become known not only for the chocolate sold under that name, but also for the droste effect: the self-repeating picture in a picture, so named after the image on the packaging of Droste chocolate as printed from around 1900.

De naam Droste is niet alleen bekend geworden door de chocolade die onder die naam is verkocht, maar ook om het droste-effect: het zichzelf herhalende plaatje in een plaatje, zo genoemd naar de afbeelding op de verpakking van Drostechocolade zoals die vanaf circa 1900 is bedrukt.
Op de verpakking staat een verpleegster afgebeeld met in haar handen eenzelfde verpakking. De vermoedelijke tekenaar is de Haarlemse reclametekenaar Johannes Misset, geïnspireerd door een pastel van de Zwitserse schilder Jean-Étienne Liotard: La serveuse de chocolat, ook wel La belle chocolatière genoemd[2]. Deze pastel, die verwijst naar de heilzame werking van chocolade, mag om wettelijke redenen niet in de Verenigde Staten worden gebruikt.

Browsing through some old iPhone shots I came across this from this past winter.... now I'm hungry LOL
Cupcakes you'll remember forever..
Het menu was hazenpeper met aardappelpuree en cranberries en appelmoes. Vooraf garnalencocktail en achteraf iets zoets met chocola. Alles zelf bereid door onze broeder kok, dagen is hij ermee in de weer geweest, bijgestaan door diverse medebroeders. Prijs: zes euro, alles handwerk.
De glazen rode wijn zijn alleen voor de toasten die uitgebracht worden. Als je een toast of speech wil uitbrengen moet je dat glas van het blauwe lint afhalen. De opziener ziet dat en vraagt voor jou toestemming aan de voorzitter of je het woord mag voeren. Daarna mag je spreken. Zeer ordelijk en doelmatig anders wordt het een rommeltje. Het glas heet "kanon" omdat je het met een klap op tafel terug moet zetten na de toast (allemaal tegelijk). Vandaar de dikke voet.
