A Chicagoan and his shadow cut across Grant Park on a sunny September afternoon, seemingly unfazed by the cloud of cool mist descending from nearby Buckingham Fountain. I, on the other hand, had to dry off my camera after taking this shot :) Happy Wednesday!

On the streets of Chicago, leaving the CTA train. He took the cat out of a bag, as he was leaving the train. I loved how the cat sits on his shoulder. I didn't get a chance to talk to him, but did get a quick shot of them. I don't know if he was a homeless person or not.

Thanks for comments and favs :)

Took this and a few others during clogged traffic stops last year. This was the only one that had an unobstructed view of the city. I have tons of pictures ready to post, just no time, really busy hauling lots of goodies to keep the shelves full.

Only have about an hour before I have to go to bed. I know I sound like a broken record, but it's the story of my life. No sign of things letting up any time soon.

I'm in South Carolina tonight. Heading to Fayetteville North Carolina in the morning to deliver Red Bull, then a pickup somewhere about 60 miles away and then to Chicago, which if you didn't know is also the city in this picture. Pretty recognizable skyline so I'm sure most of you knew it instantly.

Anyway, lots of things since the last time I posted, bought a new car, 2020 Subaru Outback XT. First car I've owned since I gave my old Mitsubishi away to my brother Ralph a few years after I began trucking in 2009. I'll put a link below if anyone wants to see what it looks like.

I was home about 10 days ago, everyone fine there, my mom turned 87 in April and is doing great. No one I know has been afflicted with Covid virus than goodness. I did have to get a veterinarian to come to the house to euthanize my mom's 14 year old lab mix. Poor thing couldn't get up. It was getting worse each time I came home, so knew it would be soon. But the second day home the ol' girl just couldn't get up off the ground. Luckily I found a vet service that would does house calls for such things. No way I could have gotten the dog into a car. Too heavy and she would snap at anyone trying to move her. Awful stuff, but the veterinarian was awesome, so kind and understanding. Gave my mom comfort and let her say goodbye beautifully. Gonna help mom get a new companion next time I'm home, another rescue dog I'm sure. I'll add a link of Mom and Sapphire, last minutes together.

Anyway, need to post this and then see a little of what I've missed. I think I'm going to try to visit Flickr every night, even if I only have time to visit one or two friends. If I do that regularly I think that will keep me from feeling overwhelmed about being so far behind. I really do miss you all and appreciate your messages to me.

So much craziness going on in the country, "We need love, not hate and justice, not chaos."

NS 880 blasts out of Chicago behind one of the few active BNSF SD70MACs leading Detroit Edison loads past Guaranted Rated on the South Side. The Canal Street lift bridge and the Saint Charles Air Line can be seen in the background left. On the bottom left corner is the former 37th Street Yard which originally started out as a C&EI intermodal facility.

Chicago is a fascinating place, if one only allows oneself to notice.

Looking West down Route 66. This is where it begins at its Eastern end.

A 2-shot panoramic of Chicago. Beautiful Evening though breezy, I was worried about the grey skies earlier but the broke up and provided me a beautiful sky to shoot.
