Super simple project making a powered speaker from an old toolbox (Makita drill case). Uses an Adafruit 3.7 watt audio amp ( www.adafruit.com/products/987 ) which is super cheap ($8.00) and runs on very little power. This project is really a no brainer, it's just a matter of plugging things into the little amp circuit. 6" Speakers are from Target and are the cheap automotive type, perfect for this project. I chose a 1/4" jack for the outside since the 1/8" one looked a little fragile for this project.

In the foreground is a modded Gamebog DMG running LSDJ and a color gameboy with Nanoloop.

This project sounds great, the automotive speakers have more bass than any other small system I've tried. and since the plastic case is rugged and (previously) waterproof, it's a great box to lug around outside. Also, since it opens so easily you can keep your chiptune gear (or mp3 player etc) inside.

I love this little modular synth.

The exhibition, imported from LABoral (ES) and now presented at iMAL, shows artworks by artists coming from the "chiptune" and media arts scenes who reused old PC's and games consoles to create new sound and visual contents. Reinventing and hacking vinyl’s, vintage computers, game platforms, they turned “dead media” into powerful tools of artistic creation.
