Five minutes was all it took to destroy her new chew toy. This was taken in May, nothing much has changed. On the other hand, she has left our furniture alone, so in the scheme of things, I will take it.
Do what you love, B
Indie, a Nanday Conure, will be delighted to receive his new toy I made for him. I placed a photo of Indie in the first comment.
I use the hooks to pull the jute through the wood beads and rattan balls. Some of our parrots like to untie the macrame knots, so I tie a few in the toys.
George with one of the many toys he has happily chewed to pieces this year. 2019 comes to an end this week and soon it will be the beginning of a new decade. The roaring twenties are upon us yet again.
Every since getting our puppy, she likes to make many things that aren't supposed to be for her, into chew toys. It is a constant battle that will probably take months of training to overcome. From where I am, I see the world in a different perspective when it comes to what she might think is fun to chew on!

at the Subaru Dealership.
Obviously, we know who is in charge here.
We spent the day at the dealership with a fix to my old Subaru and an negotiation for a new Subaru.
There is a very funny story that goes with this on how I chose to replace my Outback with a Crosstrek.
I asked the salesperson to open up the back of the Crosstrek and I literally climbed in with Charlie and pretended to take a nap with him --> on the show room floor.
If I can sleep in the back of the Crosstrek, I can camp with Charlie.
Done. Charlie picked the car and we'll soon replace our old ride.
Happy Dances around.
Visited my sister in Bowling Green, OH today, and snapped some photos of the new addition to her family....her puppy Bleu. Cute, little energetic guy!
Going to the zoo early enabled me to see my friend, Loui, acting like a canine! He's usually sleepy in the middle of the day.
Yet even more pictures of our sweet Runyon on Tuesday May 28th and Wednesday May 29th, 2019. He is continuing to adjust to our family and we to him. Our Catahoula Leopard mix is a real cutie.
When Gizmo tucks his legs up underneath him, he just turns into a glob of fur on the living room floor. Here he is enjoying one of his new toys

a Suba-chew, which was supposed to look like a green outback. Charlie immediately crushed it and took to playing.
A macro picture of one of the kittens "teething rings".
I wasn't sure if I was going to use this photo for the Macro Monday's theme of "Mesh". I decided on a second picture.
Sometimes I get comfortable doing something a certain way. I stop trying the new or play around with settings. I stop thinking about what I'm doing.
When it comes to photos, I am a HUGE control freak. Manual. Always. So I'm not sure what made me think to use the shake to shuffle feature on the Hipstamatic camera but I did.
I took a photo, shook the camera, it randomly chose the film, lens and flash then I took another photo. I think I did this for half hour or so.
After about 20 shots or so I took some time to look at how they came out.
First photo, horrible.
Second even worse.
The third shot was horrid as well as the fourth which I think combined my least favorite lens with my least favorite film and flash.
But then the fifth wasn't too bad and the six shot was amazing to me. The random combination used to treat the shot, I don't think I ever really would have used.

It made me stop and think for a minute. It gave me new ideas. It gave me inspiration. -
-
It also gave me the thought to reach down to the dog laying next to me and grab his chew toy he was gnawing and chuck it across the backyard. Which I don't think was the best idea since he had to run directly over me to fetch it. -

Just a few days left of vacation. We're trying to soak up every moment that we don't HAVE to be somewhere :)
Pearl really likes her new football shaped toy.
I ended up having in impromptu photo shoot with my girl yesterday while she was up on my bed gnawing away on her new toy.
Unlike Raven, who much of the time just refused to even look at me if I picked up the camera, Pearl doesn't seem to mind, and it's much easier to capture her different expressions. She's fun to photograph.
Another day of rain........ugh!
Sit on his head and fart
...I thought for sure you all would know by now NOT to ask questions.
(He doesn't bite to be mean by the way, he bites while playing but still not a good thing cause he doesn't know his own strength)

Here are pictures of our sweet Runyon over this past week - through Saturday May 25th, 2019. He is continuing to adjust to our family and we to him. It was a busy week - his first visit to the vet and his 'brother' came home to visit!
While cleaning up what was left of a pillow, which wasn't much, I found Wilson here under the couch. I was so excited, I jumped up and yelled INDE! He came running, saw what I had and pee'd on the floor. I don't get it, I don't pee on the floor when I get excited. Not yet anyway.

(do you have ANY idea how hard it was to get the '1' on the tennis ball to show up while he was mutilating it. To make it worse, he kept stopping and licking the top of my head.)

We seriously need rain (real rain, not dog bone rain) here in Texas!!
I'm not that stoked about how this picture came out. But oh well, here it is. Basil (as always) was such a good sport.

About 2 weeks ago we had a little action in the Beekse Bergen.
Some not too smart mums decided to go on a car-safari, this is a seperate park from the rest where you can drive your car through areas where the animals roam freely.
Now one of the rules is that you stay in your car.
You might think that that would speak for itself, but as always there are people that just don't get it.....
When they came into the section where the cheetahs are, mum had the great idea to get out of the car and take a nice walk.....
The surprised cheetahs couldn't believe their eyes when a little kid presented himself as a snack.
To make matters worse, when the kid saw the cheetahs come he ran and made himself the perfect chewtoy and got grabbed by his arm.
Luckily for this not too bright family cheetahs aren't the most dangerous of big cats and the boy survived with only a few scars and a great story to tell at school.
Apart from that story I have got many shots of the 4 cheetah-cubs, so I decided to post a few of them at the same time.
