The second generation of the Chevrolet Chevelle was built from 1967 until 1972. This two-door coupe version has a 5.3 litre V8 engine.

Spotted in Grafton this week! Original Al paint and window decals too, plus fuzzy dice on the mirror.

2019 Back to the Fifties car show

This one is in the desirable 2-door hardtop body style.

 

It isn’t marked as an ‘SS’ model. It does have a 327 V8 emblem on its fender, though.

 

The wheels appear to be the popular Cragar S/S model.

I seem to recall that the SS package on the Chevelle line for this model year was available only on the 2-door hardtop and the El Camino models. Thus, I suspect that this station wagon example is a created 'tribute' version, just for fun. It probably has an engine replacement to go along with the Cowl Induction hood that was available on the SS454 I believe.

 

In any case, I like station wagons so this customization seems quite attractive to me.
