Home alone today, Thanksgiving 2010.
I spent the morning playing around in Adobe Illustrator. When I was laying in bed, slowing waking up, I started to consider all the things I am thankful for. I've been intrigued with mind maps recently and decided to create one to represent my gratitude and blessings thoughts. Already I see misspellings and alignment issues I want to improve. There are things missing that should be included. But. Four so hours is enough time spent on this project. It'll just have to be as it is; showing this slice of time, today right now, about me.

The correlation between the measuring chart and actual construction of the cart. The first two measurements needed for determining the height of the cart is the A and D measurements. The difference between these two measurements is going to be the goal height of your cart. For example if A is 22" and D is 16" your goal height will be 19". The width of your cart only needs to be about a quarter inch wider than the widest point of the dog. Length of the cart is calculated by adding B and C + 3 1/2". So lets say B is 14" and C is 5". 19"+ 3 1/2" = 22 1/2". Three inches will be in the back for poop and tail clearance and the front of the cart only needs to go a half inch past the shoulder blades to allow room for screwing the straps into the side of the tubing cap on the front. On dogs over 60lbs I put 3/4" wooden dowel in every inch of the PVC for added strength.

At the panel I lead on service design, we handed out three cards to everyone: red, yellow, and green. We used them for participation during the panel, then asked people to share their feedback at the end. This is the results.
135 mm Lens Comparison, Border

The black dot in the white rectangle displays the size and the position of the crop.
The focusing was done seperately for the border, so you have no conclusion regarding the field of curvature.
Funny: apart from the Isco every lens is showing vignetting wide open, which almost disappear when stopping down exactly one f-stop. Also somewhat weird: the trio zoom/Tokina/Porst seems to have a better rendering at the border than in the center wide open. All lenses are showing lateral color aberrations (red/green at the "GFA"), which don't disappear when stopping down. Wide open CAs are low at the Pentacon, but the GFA letters are colored blue also here. Like reported on many Pentacon/Sonnar comparisons, the Pentacon is soft at the border. I think it softer at f2.8 than the zoom lens at f4.
It is really hard to name the best performer here. I like the Mamiya, but the Isco is also fine in its way: not very contrasty but very homogeneous.
The NRM's E5001 on display at an open day at Chart Leacon. Once again there are current rumours that the loco is being considered for restoration to working order, which would be nice to see - it would be perfect for the VSOE's regular trips to Folkestone.
You will struggle to find a single person on earth who has never come across at least one of Disney's many characters. And the best way to sum up the impact that Walt Disney's brainchild has had is to say that it's impossible to imagine the world without it.

The best sunset I have ever seen in my life and will likely ever see again......
This photo shows only a partial view of what we witnessed tonight at Ski Slide Road, and does not do the event any justice to it's incredible beauty, stark contrast of peace and violence and rich bold, brilliant color. It was simply impossible to photograph the entire sky at one time, especially with the variable light from one zone to another.
With a storm behind me to the east; lightening flashing, thunder booming, ominous blue and black clouds at my back, turbulent clouds swirling in circles directly overhead, other clouds going in every single direction around me, the sun came out for 4 minutes past the edge of the clouds and lit up the turbulent, moisture saturated, rain enveloped sky around us and created a literal sky of orange. The colors shown here actually extended above us to the edge of the storm, as well as to the left and right of our position. We were capped in a dome of glowing orange unlike one I have ever seen before in person or in any photo I have viewed as the light shined thru the rain and high moisture content in the edge of the storm front we were under.
I've seen thousands of sunsets and taken perhaps hundreds of photos of them over the years - quite a few from this exact spot.. >Nothing< even comes close to what we witnessed.
As this was unfolding, every single car that came up to the bridge stopped, parked, and all the occupants either got out - some running to the bridge with cell phone cameras in hand, or others just stayed in their cars....pointing to the amazing event unfolding around them. I think I counted about 5-6 vehicles, possibly more. My eyes were gazing towards the heavens and the absolutely stunning show God placed around me and my boys at that moment.
Unless you were there, it is difficult to put in words or even into a photo how incredible this was.
I'll carry that moment in time with me for the rest of my life to my grave.....
