Happy Bokeh Wednesday everyone.....have a great day!
Drops were teeny, tiny......better viewed large. A tighter crop made them too blurry. Thanks everyone for your visits, comments, and Flickr fun!

The crickets sang in the grasses. They sang the song of summer's ending, a sad monotonous song. "Summer is over and gone, over and gone, over and gone. Summer is dying, dying."
A little maple tree heard the cricket song and turned bright red with anxiety.”

When,
at that moment, the secret charm of your cat appears before you: how human is he, reading a book, and in the company of his new friend, Charlotte.
Bat, you are one TERRIFIC CAT!😻
Spiny Backed Orb Weaver
The famous spider from Charlotte's Web is a barn orb-weaver spider. Orb weaving spiders produce the familiar flat, ornate, circular webs usually associated with spiders. Orbweavers come in many shapes and sizes, but the brightly colored garden orbweavers, Argiope spp., are the largest and best known.
Orbweavers are generally harmless and can be a nuisance when they build large webs in places inconvenient for humans. Despite their formidable appearance, orb weaver spiders are not considered dangerous.
This is our annual "Charlotte". This year she has set up at the end of the balcony and is between the railing and the eves. I had to use my on board flash. set to -2. to light her up and show her details.
a commissioned gift for a woman who will be playing Charlotte in a stage production of Charlotte's Web!

Female Golden Garden Spider hanging out at my house. These have a lot of names, including but not limited too: Yellow Garden Spider, Black and Yellow Garden Spider, Golden Garden Spider, Writing Spider, Zigzag Spider, Zipper Spider, Black and Yellow Argiope, Corn Spider, Steeler Spider, and McKinley Spider. They are very beneficial beasties to have around not to mention beautiful.
Going back a few months for this one. If memory serves me well, I caught this little guy working on a pack lunch out in my back garden/yard.
If interested in a peak at other uploads, feel free to check my most interesting images as determined by Flickr, or my personal favourites.

Charlotte's Web ;-) as always I like to come up with something new and perhaps slightly different ;-) then my other pictures... btw that spider was really tiny I used macro lens to take that picture.. I hope you 'll like it... PRESS L FOR LARGE PIC IS WAY BETTER... * All of my photographs/pictures are Copyrighted & All Rights Reserved @ ** They may NOT be downloaded, used or reproduced in any way without my explicit written permission ** Thx in advance guys for comments & visit.
Detail shot of a portion of my White on White Crazy Quilt Wall Hanging Group Correspondence course. Because only white and ecru fabric and threads have been used it had a bridal feel to the piece. I added some letting in the spider web as a reference to Charlotte's Web and to make the piece more whimsical.

For Our Daily Challenge 30th April 2011, "book title".
I've not actually read Charlotte's Web, but I'm pretty sure Charlotte is a spider?! I had the book when I was younger, but for some reason I have never read it.....!
I don't know if this web belonged to a Charlotte or not... I couldn't see it's owner!
Found this spider setting up his web today, They are hard creatures to photograph as they always appear to be moving. Jason Bearns, I thought of you today when I discovered this.
I wove my webs for you.... because I liked you.

You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing.....
After all, what's a life, anyway?
We're born, we live a little while, we die.
A spider's life can't help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that.

'The itsy, bitsy spider, climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
So the itsy, bitsy spider went up the spout again.' - Nursery Rhyme

fun facts:
Spiders are not insects (insects have three body parts and six legs whereby spiders have eight legs, either six or eight eyes and two body parts: the abdomen and the thorax).
Spiders have silk spinning glands (spinnerets) at the tip of their abdomen but not all spiders spin webs.
Spiders belong to the Arachnid family and there are more than 30,000 species of spiders.
Spiders are oviparous, which means their babies come from eggs.
Spider bites can be quite painful, and a select few can be fatal; all spiders have fangs, through which venom is ejected.
Fear of spiders is called 'Arachniphobia' and it is one of the most common fears among humans.
Male spiders identify themselves by a variety of complex courtship rituals to avoid being eaten alive by the females, the human species call this behavior 'dating'.
IN HISTORY:
In the Devonian period, about 386 million years ago, spider-like arachnids with silk-producing spigots appear but these creatures apparently lacked spinnerets.
True spiders have been found in Carboniferous rocks from 318 to 299 million years ago, and are very similar to the most primitive surviving order, the Mesothelae.
The main groups of modern spiders, Mygalomorphae and Araneomorphae, first appear in the Triassic period, before 200 million years ago.
"You mean you eat flies?" gasped Wilbur
"Certainly. Flies, bugs, grasshoppers, choice beetles, moths, butterflies, tasty cockroaches, gnats, midgets, daddy-long-legs, centipedes, mosquitoes, crickets - anything that is careless enough to get caught in my web. I have to live, don't I?"
"Why, yes, of course," said Wilbur. "Do they taste good"?
"Delicious. Of course, I don't really eat them. I drink them - drink their blood. I love blood."
A nice, bloodthirsty quote from Charlotte's Web for Hallowe'en!
I am not a fan of spiders as in the past, I have been traumatised by the spiders in my cottage that were so big, they actually set off the security lights and cameras! However, earlier this morning I found the thumbnail of this delicate little spider’s web. Just before deleting it, I took a look at the bigger picture and decided I liked it enough to post this morning. Many years ago, as a borderline arachnophobe, I read Charlotte’s Web to my daughter and somehow the story made me look at spiders in a kinder, more sensitive way.
"Charlotte's Web, classic children's novel by E.B. White, published in 1952, with illustrations by Garth Williams. The widely read tale takes place on a farm and concerns a pig named Wilbur and his devoted friend Charlotte, the spider who manages to save his life by writing about him in her web."
