A little bit of pain
And a little bit of pleasure
Is enough to make me never say never.

Been wanting to take pics with her for a while now... really happy it finally happened! I'm really loving this shoot :)
Week 1/52, 2017
This weekās theme for my 52 project is āthe times they are a changin,ā the Bob Dylan song. My year started with the flu and an unplanned hospital stay, which is why Iāve been off Flickr for the last few weeks. I was put on isolation unable to leave my hospital room for almost a week. With limited options, I took this picture from my hospital room window. I liked the clouds and I processed it to give it a cold, winterish look. I felt like the clouds and light gave it the look of coming change.

While on vacation in Primiero last summer I could see the effects of 2 phenomena which hit the forests of the Central-Eastern Italy. Apparently independent, in fact theyāre sadly connected by the changing climatic conditions.
One is the devastation brought by an unprecedented storm, later named Vaia, in 2018 - on a very wide region, several thousands of trees have been eradicated and whole forests destroyed.
The other is the incisive action of the spruce bark beetle ā a bug that, favored by the last couple of hot and dry years, is attacking many of the weakened trees that survived the Vaia storm, drying them up and thus worsening the already critical status of our forests.
This latter hit hard on the local communities, who were starting remediation programs after Vaia. Itāll take further efforts to find sustainable solutions, since many aspects in their daily life are influenced by the state of health of their forests.
The modern city of Alba Iulia is located near the site of the important Dacian political, economic and social center of Apulon, which was mentioned by the ancient Greek geographer Ptolemy. After Dacia became a province of the Roman Empire, the capital of Dacia Apulensis was established here, and the city was known as Apulum. Apulum was the largest city in Roman Dacia and was the seat of the XIII Gemina Legion. Apulum is the largest castrum located in Romania, occupying 37.5 hectares (93 acres) (750 x 500 m2). The early Slavic name of the settlement was BÄlgrad (meaning "white castle" or "white town"). The "white city" name was Latinized into Alba Julia. Between 1541 - 1690 it was the capital of the Eastern Hungarian Kingdom and the Principality of Transylvania. Alba Iulia is historically important for Hungarians, Romanians and Transylvanian Saxons. The change of guard, troops from the city's Austrian Empire's infantry, cavalry and artillery divisions in their traditional military costumes, happens every day at 12 pm. It takes place nearby the 3rd and 4th Citadel Gates, two of the largest and most imposing of the citadel's seven gates and is attended by a large crowd.

ODC-Seasonal Changes
The weather is chilly in the mornings now, so it's necessary to wear long pants; a shirt or light jacket when outdoors. You can also see the Silver Maple in front of Stu, it's starting to turn a little red. Soon the Elderberry leaves (plant in the foreground) will turn a brilliant red.

Change is coming. I sometimes need to tear everything down and rebuild from scratch. It might only be one creative idea that motivated me but, inevitably, there will be more. I'm going to have to provide some commentary during all of this; explaining my odd fascinations and maybe just a bit of my dark side.

Another play with Luminar 4, turning these old coastal defences at Portsea from bright day to stormy night. Positioned above Cheviot Beach, within the Point Nepean National Park, they are included in a large collection of military installations, dating back before WW1.

Probably not what you were asking for Sedat. I decided my challenge for CHANGE would be small change, money we put into a piggy bank for our grandchildren. They have much delight in seeing how much we have saved for them from small change and it eventually goes into their bank accounts.
want your love
I need your love
You are the only that i've been dreaming of
I want love
I want your love, love, love
You know that i've gotta get your love

I was supposed to do something else today. Things can change fairly quickly. I do have this back-log of issues, but I was saving these for Sunday. Instead of reading them, I think I'll use the extra time to expend more on freelance opportunities.
They hadn't seen each other in 20 years. For some reason I got invited along.
"you havent changed a bit!"
"oh no I have! but you havent change a bit at all!"
Here, that seems to be a compliment.
How baffling.
