My original plan was to chill in Dalton for an hour or two & see whatever comes through as a side trip on the way home from Chattanooga that morning. I pulled into the parking lot by the depot when my friend Brad shared an update that 27W was east of Tallapoosa, GA with EMDX Yellow Slug 7208 in the lead. With that news, I immediately left & started booking it down I-75 towards Atlanta to try & beat it. Thankfully for me, the dispatcher put them in the hole at Temple to let two westbounds through, buying me enough time to get to Austell as he was again going into the hole at Lithia Springs for about 20 minutes to allow the higher priority 226 to slip by them. Upon determining not to try either Austell or Mableton, I went to Bridge since I knew I could get them from either side of the crossing there depending on where the sun was. It just so happened that G98, which is normally G78, was going into the lead for Argos USA right as I got there. I set up to get a few shots of them while I waited for 27W when next thing I know, 27W calls Bridge, allowing me to catch a rather eco-friendly meet as the ECO-set powering G98 was passed by the tier 4 demonstrator unit. The moral of this story... it pays to be at the right place at the right time. 7-10-20
There is something about my physical appearance that has changed and I can't put my finger on it. And its making me angry.
(I know I'm not wearing my glasses in some of these pictures.)
E X P L O R E
From brown to green
Chameleon changes his colour
To suit the cause
To embrace the rainbow nation
He can fit in with all
After segregation
After hibernation
Chameleon walks free
Down the roads
Up the hills
In between robots
Chameleon walks free
The wind howls furiously
Gusts blows him away
Papers fly across the streets
And chameleon walks free
Returning home
To the planks of dirt
Cockroaches observe him with haunted eyes
Chameleon changes colour
Chameleon is free!

I was at Green Timbers Urban Forest in Surrey British Columbia Canada. I’ve photographed this location several times over the past week and was challenging myself to see it from a different perspective. I put a 7Artisans 60mm Macro lens on my Fuji XT3 and was seeing new subjects everywhere. A simple change of perspective rekindled my interest.

About 30 minutes behind the Glacier Discovery was the 110N. Loads of frac sand in super sacks headed for Fairbanks. By the time this train arrived there had been quite the weather change so I opted for a view from the dark side with the Kenai Mountains in the background.
Well, my life has changed again. I've moved to the west coast and I'm back at school, this time as a graduate student. It's been challenging but exhilarating. I hope to take more doll shots soon. Unfortunately, I don't have my 'good' camera with me. Just my Powershot. Oh well, make lemonade out of lemons, right?
Thanks to She's so Poppy for the excellent reroot of Joyful in Japan.
Two Tree (or not two tree)
A very nice tree, near my home. I can't take any nice ones of it anymore though. The skyline is currently a vast construction site, and in a while a new neighborhood :(.

The elevation of the sun in the sky has a dramatic impact on the scenery here. I never tire of visiting this park, nor this location. Every ten steps brings in focus a new angle, a new look, every 15 minutes of sunlight does pretty much the same. It is spectacular!
The genesis for the destructive Camp Fire was one mile to the north of the tiny resort community of Pulga, CA, located in the Feather River Canyon. According to reports, the entire area surrounding Pulga was wiped out by the fire. It makes shots like this extra special. Late on a summer afternoon, a westbound Union Pacific grain train exits the small resort community.
I changed the bedding today - how mundane. Anyway, before I could get to it the cat had a field day on the sheets - this is a snap of her handy work. She was not impressed when I put the clean sheets on and hid in the airing cupboard in protest. Can't please everyone.
A pair of Norfolk Southern 4-axle EMDs roll an eastbound underneath the now-removed NYC signals at CP 505 a few years ago. NS GP40-2 3067 used to zip through here in charge of Conrail Van trains as the 3399.
The old speedster has been displaced on the hot trains by newer stuff, but even downgraded, the GP40-2 was still looking good.
The effects of climate change. A rare blizzard dumping as much as 5' of snow in the mountains of Southern California

New Tokyo Tower is under construction,

He looks sad...
C501 heads west and passes under the last C&O installed signal bridges remaining. However, now that CSX has removed one track through here, one has to wonder how long that will last.
So beautiful, but so poisonous. A fly agaric sits on the bank side of the Wey surrounded by a scattering of fallen leaves, while the sunlights up trees still in full leaf.
Post processing involved the use of levels and curves in specific areas of the scene to give more depth.
On January 8, 1978, the AMTRAK Empire Builder and North Coast Hiawatha were changed to depart Chicago at 1040 PM for an overnite run to the Twin Cities. A new Twin Cities Hiawatha, trains 9 and 10, began day service over the route.
Numbers 760 and 761 again connected with a train to Chicago. On January 21, 1978, eastbound BN freight (6831-6417-6900) sits at Interstate in Northtown Yard waiting for Number 760 with SDP40F 538 to pass.
