She is a true fighter, she was not born strong, she was made strong. She was sculpted to be her own hero when the world lets her down.

The campanula is originally a mountain plant. It is therefore not surprising that this plant does well between the stones. The flowers are also called bellflowers. They owe this name to the bell shape. The flowers bloom in many different colors, including white, pink, purple and blue. The campanula brightens up the stones completely with its flowers in these beautiful colors and therefore also works well as a filler between stones and pavement.

Found this neat original slide of the Florida East Coast Champion motive power in 1947 on Ebay. The slide was rather scratched and faded but is now presentable. Love these early streamliner paint schemes. Unknown photographer.

Two CN SD60s drag the L'Anse Job into the community of Champion, Michigan. A few miles up the road, the L'Anse Sub will divert to ex-LS&I rails for the final miles towards Ishpeming.
Possibly my favorite of these so far--hard to beat olive green for one thing. Unlike the other two though, no room for a minifigure in this cockpit...
I built this in March or April, photographed it in July or thereabouts, and finally am getting around to posting it because I want more on my end-of-the-year collage. Isn't that awful.
Shout out to Isaiah for the epic edit.

Around 4:55 AM, FEC 103 wakes up the town of Saint Augustine with the ambience of EMD 645's screaming throughout the marsh. With the chance of 103 having EMD leaders being very common at the time, little did I know with GE's starting to take over the 103/204 trains. I took my opportunity to shoot 103 twice in the span of a week, with both times having Champion schemed SD40's leading.
Both times of chasing 103 would consist of chasing all the way from Northend Bayard down to New Smyrna Beach, having either minutes or seconds to setup at spots along the way.
Some people just go above and beyond. Big Berst TMD is one of those individuals that exceeds in areas. Thanks my dude. berst1.tumblr.com

FEC 109 passes the searchlights guarding the south end of Port Sewall on a warm March morning. The searchlight's in this photo are on borrowed time as they could be gone within the next few months or a year from now.
With all that is happening in the world right now, It seemed important to share this photograph of this tree, located along a Humboldt County backroad, it is the largest single Bigleaf Maple I've ever seen, yet I've never been able to take a photograph that engages with this fact: like giant trees in general, the sense of scale remains difficult to portray.
So let us just wonder at this tree, in place for a dozen decades in the same soil hollow on this well-watered ridge, giving shelter to cows and other animals and the occasional human that ends up under there, enjoying the smell of soil and the shadows on their face. Not a bad thing. Long may you live. And you too.

Last night Burnley beat Sheffield United 2-0 at Turf Moor, Burnley.
We were already promoted to the Premier league with 7 games to go, now it’s a case of becoming champions.
I put a £10 bet on at the beginning of the season that Burnley would win the league. The odds were 9:1 .
I’ve been watching the cashout since the start of the season. It currently stands at £93.20; of course I’ll wait for the full £100 😂

Congratulations to Paris for winning the World Cup! I have never experienced such energy before in my life and, what I love most about it is how it brings people together. I've been thinking quite a lot about the politics between the two countries. Neither is perfect but I don't think France would have ever allowed for the horror of Trump to take place and when our talented athletes protest like Colin Kaepernick did, there is a backlash instead of a celebration. I don't think that would happen in France because, at least from what I experienced, people of all races are seen with more respect. I loved seeing how diverse the French team was and the energy of the streets. It was one of those surreal events that I will probably always remember...like are there actually people on top of the Arc de Triomphe?!? Yes, there were.
I am finally back from what was the most bipolar energetic vacation I ever went on. I had to fly back to Paris from Lisbon for my return trip to Chicago and on Sunday in the midst of all of this energy, I find out my flight through Air France has been cancelled. I spend 20 hours between airports between connecting flights, delays, lust luggage-you name it. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong when Air France cancelled our flight with less than 10 hours notice and without a replacement flight until Thursday.
So, I hope that in a few years, I remember these moments of extreme joy and happiness and maybe not so much the last 24 hours of traveling hell. Oh, and I just found out that the airline for the connecting flight found my bag so...things are looking up.

A replica of the Borghese Warrior sculpture is one of many sculptures that is on display in the Saint Armands Circle area of Sarasota, Florida. I thought that this PoV captured a compelling pose of a champion. I'll be posting a few other shots, with more traditional composition, in the future.
The Borghese Gladiator is a Hellenistic lifesize marble sculpture actually portraying a swordsman, created at Ephesus about 100 BCE. It is signed on the pedestal by Agasias, son of Dositheus.
It was found circa 1611, at Nettuno south of Rome, among the ruins of a seaside palace of Nero on the site of the ancient Antium. From the attitude of the figure it is clear that the statue represents not a gladiator, but a warrior contending with a mounted combatant.
The sculpture was added to the Borghese collection in Rome. Camillo Borghese was pressured to sell it to his brother-in-law, Napoleon Bonaparte, in 1807; it was taken to Paris when the Borghese collection was acquired for the Louvre, where it now resides. [wiki]

The man who appears soldering in this image is a Syrian discus champion !!! He dreamed of the Rio Olympics and had the level to go to ... Instead he ended up in a Refugee camp in Northern Greece, with no rights or freedom ... The continuous solidarity of the people who have flocked to these refugee camps have made possible some small miracles. One of them was building a gym for all ... Qusai started soldering an iron, then another, then another ... And he got it.
Built for the 2017 Summer Jousts' Homestead Category
This build was heavily inspired by The Champions Retreat from "Forge of Empires". I took lots of artistic freedom to make it fit my aesthetic.
Sorry for the huge break between MOCs. Work and University have been taking up a great deal of my time.
