On an early Sunday morning, we were roaming around the legendary Hamburg Fish Market (Hamburger Fischmarkt). When we arrived at the old fish auction hall, there were lots of happy people (starting their day having a coffee, or ending their long night having a beer), food trucks selling delicious fish and the live band was playing some unforgotten party hits. In a nutshell: the party was already in full swing.

I felt like I needed to create this evening, despite feeling not at all good and very tired. So I introduce you to my little chalk friend here. Inspired by Jack Batchelor's photo of a terrified little snail in the rain, I was reminded that... I kinda like snails.
I'm trying to create some much more elaborate concepts in my head at the moment but I must keep shooting in between those.

I painted a chalkboard in the studio today using this recipe. I just finished priming it with chalk and I'll clean it with a barely damp cloth tomorrow.

On Wednesday mornings Sam and I watch 25 homeschoolers and help them with their lessons. It is so sweet to see Sam help the younger kids. She is so patient with them.
This is one of the little girls that is part of the program. She is one of my favorite kids. She is spunky and smart. She loves sports and loves life.

This is a chalkboard that is in our kitchen. The 'family' across the top and days down the side stay the same each week. The activities differ all the time and some weeks we get busy and run out of room. There is always room for family at the top though.
2014 has been a great year. I have had a lot of fun in many ways in my life. One of those is Flickr. I have had a great time with each of you and thank you for sharing your work with me. Your work inspires me and impresses me and makes me laugh and think. I look forward to it every day and love it and cannot thank you enough for everything.
