"Paris Streets 445, Eerily Empty Chairs, Redux." I captured this image of the sun setting behind the Roue de Paris from an eerily vacant Bassin Octogonal at Jardin des Tuileries. The Roue, at 60 meters (200 feet) in height, is the world’s largest mobile Ferris wheel. It is located at Place de la Concord in Paris, France. [Flickr Explore #60, May 5, 2022.]

He either sleeps in this chair or watches the puppy. This is my chair, but while I was unwell and did not use it, Vas'ka took a fancy to it and now does not want to give in

Perhaps Simkha's desires are not very sophisticated. Perhaps he wants to remain a kitten for as long as possible and sleep on my lap, like in this photo. In any case, my wish is for him to be as affectionate, sweet and attached to me as an adult as he is now, when he is not yet four months old. I am lying on the reclining chair and Simha is on my legs.

The saying has certainly had some meaning for me this year. After a lovely week down on the Coast at Lymington in the New Forest, I returned back home refreshed. However, by Monday evening, I said to my wife."I think I'm coming down with something" I had a headache, which is unusual for me and a bit of a cough! The following morning I felt even worse and did a Covid test, but was negative. So perhaps a bit of man flu, I presumed.
The 15th of March is the "Ides of March" in the Old Roman Calendar and as the day went on I went steadily downhill and overnight I did another Covid test which confirmed the worst!!
Anyway, sat feeling distinctly under the weather in my sick chair, I watched the sky outside at dusk starting to get really interesting. I didn't feel like getting up out of the chair, let alone getting the camera and tripod out. BUT the sky was awesome, so I staggered achingly into the garden and took this shot, before being ordered sternly and severely back to my sick chair by my live in carer!!!
So this is my "Ides of March" shot. The lengths we go to when confronted with a shot opportunity!!
