Rathong Chu or Rathong River originates from the Rathong Glacier (hence the name) which is fed by the Mt. Rathong (6678m) and Ice Falls of Kabru group of peaks higher up in the Himalayas.

We had met up with Eduardo for the day to see who was about the streets of Newtown. I stopped to look at the jewellery and artwork in the front window of a new shop and on entering I found more artwork and started a casual conversation with the young woman sitting behind the counter. As we talked about the artwork and jewellery, which is created by this young and talented woman, I thought that she would make an interesting addition to my project.
Meet Chu.
Originally from South Korea she has made Australia her home for the last 7 years. Her shop is called Her Banana and it’s filled with her hand crafted jewellery and amazing artwork, all for sale. Her Banana
Initially I tried a portrait in the shop but the lighting was poor so I came back later when her boyfriend was able to look after the shop whilst we ducked out across the street to a location that I’ve been wanting to use as a background for a while.
Chu was really into the shoot and we took quite a few frames and its funny how you keep shooting thinking that the shots will get better but when you get home for the review, I find that I end up going for one the first 2-3 frames shot. Not sure why this happens so often, but it is what it is.
