Cesenatico è una delle località più famose della Riviera Romagnola. Una cittadina dai mille colori, vivacissima durante l'estate, affascinante durante la stagione invernale.

Grazie a tutti per visite e commenti

Come sei bella dolce riviera, ridente e fiera.

Ciao

Historic sailing boats of the Floating Maritime Museum. This museum is situated in the innermost part of the town's canal port, which "was built in 1314 because of the urgent need of the town of Cesena to create an outlet for its own trade. In 1502 Cesare Borgia (il Valentino) conquered the town and called Leonardo Da Vinci in the hope of finding a solution to the problem of sand bars silting up the harbour entrance." www.cesenatico.it/en/scheda_en.asp?id=81

It seems the canal port's reconstruction surveyed and drawn by Leonardo has been very effective since then because of its form. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesenatico

"Cesenatico [...] is a port town with about 26,000 inhabitants on the Adriatic coast of Italy. It is located in the province of Forlì-Cesena in the region of Emilia-Romagna, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of Ravenna." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesenatico

The Leonardesco Canal Port of Cesenatico is one of the most important monuments of the city.

The port - canalof Cesenatico was excavated in the early years of the century. XIV from the medieval Municipality of Cesena, which also endowed it with a small fortress for its defense. On 6 September 1502 it was the subject of an inspection by Leonardo di Vinci, commissioned by Cesare Borgia to check the civil and military infrastructures of the new Duchy of Romagna: in this visit Leonardo made two drawings of the canal port - a bird's-eye view bird and a quoted and oriented plan - both present in the "Code L", one of his notebooks, kept in Paris at the library of the Institut de France. There are no documents that authorize us to consider the Canal Port of Cesenatico the result of a Leonardesque design (the port had already existed for two centuries) or modified on the basis of his suggestions: however, the "passage"

It has always been the backbone of the historic city center and bathes via Carlo Armellini, Giordano Bruno, Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi and via Marino Moretti.

Along the canal there are some important city places:

the "Marino Moretti" House Museum

Pisacane square

the fish market of 1911

Ciceruacchio square

There is also the Museo della Marineria , a museum housed partly in the open on the waters of the port-channel. There are also events such as the Cuccagna dell'Adriatico and the Crib of the Marineria.

Ciao
