A dense fog settled on El Cerrito last night, mystical. I went out looking for glowing suburban houses (Hido), but ended up at BART.

I made this image out of 80 individual frames each taken with a Nikon D7000 and the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8, for 20 seconds and ISO 2000, then I blended them in Photoshop to generate the star trails.
The gaps you see in the trails are due to some clouds moving through the horizon during some of the frames.
The structure over the cliff is the hotel Hacienda Cerritos in Cerritos Beach Baja California Sur, Mexico.

The Cerritos Millenium Library was listed as #28 on the 50 Most Beautiful Libraries in the World on the BestValuesSchool.com site (The LA Public Library is #32).
As well as being the US’s first building to be covered with titanium paneling, it has also been termed the first “Experience Library,” because the facility puts a spotlight on fascinating themed areas, stunning art and interesting architecture. There is a children’s library that incorporates a marine aquarium with coral and sharks, while for the more grown-up scholar, the Old World Reading Room is inspired by 19th-century European design and outfitted with chandeliers and a fireplace.
Californian architects Charles Walton Associates were responsible for the sleek and shining addition to the city, which was finished in 2002.

Circa 1974 in Cerritos, California. My best friend stands in the living room of an abandoned house. The arch at the top was a passageway from an adjacent room.
His father had a vacuum truck business for which some tractor-trailer rigs needed to be parked at times. That was done on a reasonably large empty lot in Cerritos. There was an unoccupied residence on that property. It was a modest home; I seem to recall that the entry door opened directly into the living room in front, a defining characteristic of a bungalow style home in southern California.
The location info is approximate. It seemed that it was somewhat close to where Los Cerritos Shopping Center is located.
