What did people do before the phone companies convinced everyone that they have to have a phone and then charge you a fortune to use the phone hahahahaha.
New girl! I didn't order Erin when she was a Club doll as I really wanted LNO Nadja and I was trying to be 'good'. I wasn't a fan of her outfit either... So the other day I popped onto eBay and who should appear at the top of my feed but this girl and from a UK seller (at a good price) so it felt like Kismet and I popped her straight in my cart without hesitation. I'm super super pleased to have her - she's a very sultry version of one of my favourite characters and completely different to my other Erins. I also thought I'd try her in the infamous silver faux leather and fur coat from In Control Erin - and personally I really love it on her!
Cell blocks sit quiet and empty at the historic E.S.P.
Eastern State Penitentiary was the worlds first true penitentiary. A prison designed to resemble a medieval fortress and inspire true regret in the hearts of those sent there. Opened in 1829 and finally closing its doors in 1971, E.S.P. is now open to the public for tours and exploring on your own. I highly advise a visit if you're in the Philadelphia area!
Fort Brockhurst Prison Cell - 1860
I can't explain how uneasy just being in this old Army cell made me feel. It was a very uncomfortable feeling. It was dark and damp and impossible to see out of the high level window. Deeply intimidating.
The dark green moss on the arched ceiling highlighting just how damp the cells were. This was because the roofs of the buildings were covered with several feet of soil as protection against shell and mortar fire. The downside being - the ceilings and walls were like basements, surrounded by soil.
I don't suppose it was worth saying to the Army doctor, "I don't think those mould spores will do my chest and lungs any good. Please let me out of the cell."
Croydon Heritage Precinct - the old Police Station
The site comprises a number of simple timber buildings, including the police residence at the corner of the streets, the police station to the west of this with frontage to Samwell Street and cells to the rear, south of the police station. The first Police Station was established early in 1886, and was in charge of Sergeant John Farquharson with a staff of three constables.
Week Beginning 19th August ~ Periodic Table …. Photograph something that relates to an element on the periodic table. So for example, easy elements are gold, nickel, silver, iron, tin, and aluminum. You probably have things made of them around your house. Helium is found in helium inflated balloons. Hydrogen is found in water (along with oxygen). Carbon is found in graphite (in pencils) and diamonds. Calcium is found in shells.

With an area larger than a soccer field, the huge photovoltaic solar panel is one of the symbols of modernity of the city of Barcelona.
These are people from different cities of USA and India talking by the cell phone. I like the last one from New Delhi. You can see a guy on a broken door and another one peeing using their cell phones....

A capped swarm cell hanging from the bottom bar of a frame with an attendant worker. Bad news for the beekeeper (me) - it's time to do something drastic or there'll be a swarm within a week. So I transferred this and three other frames with queen cells to a nearby queenless hive where hopefully they'll happily accept the new cells. I'll know if it's worked next week ...
Students created cells using some edible objects. They had to first create a diagram and then construct a three dimensional model of their drawing. We used jello as the cells cytoplasm. Fun project!
