Thirty six years ago today, Jack Haley took possession of the Illinois Central's Iowa Division. Purchased for $75 million, the Chicago, Central & Pacific railroad was born. Although it lasted only slightly longer than 10 years, it was a great time to be out chasing CC&P trains. Here is an eastbound at Villa Park, IL back in Dec. of 1990. Merry Christmas!
