HDR effects can make for some very unusual portraits. It blends shadow and light, making areas of the picture more similar on displays. Here I've bumped-up the contrast, which would normally cause loss of detail, but other than the slight camera-shake, it's finely preserved.
I'm getting better with post-processing, but need to take someone else's portrait for a change! Back soon.
Steps:
* Made with three exposures (-2.0, 0, +2.0) from JPEG
* combined into a 32-bit HDR image
* tonemapped and saved as a 16-bit TIFF
* added the Xequals "Summer Holiday" Lightroom filter
* further post-processed in Lightroom
