Besides the presence of a space invader (CAZ_08) is this village worth visiting. A hill-built medieval village with many boutiques and art galleries. Looking towards the restaurant Le Vieux Moulin and the Chapelle Sainte-Claire. People are waiting for the bus back to Cagnes-sur-Mer.
Saint-Paul-de-Vence
Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. One of the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera, it is well known for its modern and contemporary art museums and galleries such as Fondation Maeght which is located nearby.
Saint-Paul-de-Vence has long been a haven of the famous. During the 1960s, it was frequented by French actors Yves Montand, Simone Signoret and Lino Ventura, and poet Jacques Prévert.

After a short space invader visit (including a snack at McDonald's) in Cannes (in total 1h14 in the parking garage) on the road again, autoroute A8 (La Provençale) on my way to Saint-Paul-de-Vence for my third space invader of today (CAZ_08). Exit 47...
Roadtrip Day [3] 09/06/2017
My plan was to drive from Les Arcs to Nice and to visit some space invaders part of the Invasion of the Côte d'Azur. I left the Thalys collegues and friends at the station Les Arcs-Draguignan and started my roadtrip again at 08h25 via the good old Nationale 7 to the East. Via Mougins and Cannes where I stayed more than one hour for lunch and two space invaders I went to Saint-Paul-de-Vence for another one. Before settling down in Nice I went on a space invader safari in Villefranche-sur-Mer and Cap Ferrat. This was apart from the visit to Monaco the Easternmost point of my roadtrip. I arrived at Ibis Budget Nice California at 16h42 after driving 169.4 kilometers. The maximum temperature I experienced today was in Nice, 30° C. Partly cloudy in the morning and early afternoon.

Autoroute A8
The A8 autoroute, also known as La Provençale, is a 224-kilometer (139 mi)-long highway in France that runs between Aix-en-Provence and the A7 to the Côte d'Azur.
The A8 is an extension of the A7 starting to the west of Aix-en-Provence at La Fare-les-Oliviers. The road passes through the Departments of Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Alpes-Maritimes. It serves the towns of Aix-en-Provence, Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël, Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco and Menton before crossing the border where it becomes the A10 in Italy. It crosses the mountain ranges of Sainte-Baume and of Maures between Aix-en-Provence and Fréjus and it Massif de l'Esterel between Saint-Raphaël and Cannes. Following the Grande Corniche the road offers panoramas of the sea between Nice and Menton.
The capacity of this road varies from 2x2 to 2x4 lanes.
The road has heavy traffic all year round and is especially congested in July and August (in particular around Antibes and Nice. As a result, traffic-management schemes have been adopted between Var to Nice-West similar to those on the Péripherique in Paris. The autoroute is regularly closed on the Nice-Menton section as a result of rock falls onto the carriageways. The sections crossing the Maures and L'Esterel mountains are at risk from forest fires in summer.
This autoroute was opened in sections between 1961 to 1976.

CAZ_08 [30 points]
The lovely hill-built medieval village Saint-Paul-de-Vence has been invaded as well as part of Invader's project of 2007 "Invasion of the Côte d'Azur". For me the third space invader I found, captured and flashed this holiday. FlashInvaders says "Yes!" when flashing this one. According to my information it is still the original and after 10 years still in good shape apart from 3 missing pixels (tiles). The truck was standing in my way from begin to end during my visit to Saint-Vincent-de-Paul (40 minutes).

INVASION OF THE CÔTE D’AZUR
In the year 2007 Invader has invaded the entire coast of the French Rivièra. Instead of only one city he made a project of an entire region; Côte d’Azur. Spread out from La Ciotat to the Menton near the border of Italy.
The first wave consisted of 35 space invaders spread out over 24 cities with a total score of 990 points. In 2016 Invader put one invader up in Cavalaire-sur-Mer (CAZ_36) and in 2017 wave number 3 consisted another single one (CAZ_37).
Lots of them have been deleted throughout the years but there are already are about 9 space invaders re-activated.
