in keeping with the low light theme I've been posting lately. Not really on purpose. Just archive diving.
This was taken last January very late in the day. Cav still had his winter coat and he still had his left eye

Many of you have brought up Cav, so I decided to post a quick pic I just took of him. Even though he is missing his left eye, he is still the sweet, perfect handsome Cav as he has ever been. Imperfections have stories, to me, they are better than things that are perfect.
Another shot in first comment box below. Pete is sooooo happy Cav is back. Cav is still somewhat aloof towards Pete, he always has been but they still are good buds and seem very content in each other's presence.

When I shooting the dandelion bending down closely to the lawn, I looked up to see this handsome dog stop to look at me. Ah, my best chance to shoot this perfect portrait of him.

The 1912 Columbia Cavalier is an ultra-rare "Brass Era" touring car built in Hartford, Connecticut, by the Pope Manufacturing Company. It sold new for $3,300 and is powered by a massive 410 cubic-inch, 4-cylinder T-head engine producing 45 BHP. Only a handful of these historical automobiles are believed to exist today.

Historical Context
Built during the height of the Brass Era, these cars are celebrated for their meticulous coachwork and craftsmanship. The Columbia automobile brand (originally an offshoot of the Columbia bicycle company) went through several corporate changes, eventually being acquired by the United States Motor Company prior to the Cavalier's release. Surviving models—often finished in signature mint-green—are highly prized in the collector car market.
My son, not particularly a "car guy" was very impressed with the level of paint detailing with multi stripes around the rims, 2 toning, and pinstriping details throughout. You can zoom in to appreciate what he found!

Handsome Cavalier.
For this photo, Cav was standing out in front of my barn and the barn was in deep shadow but Cav was out far enough away from the barn to catch some light giving him some nice rim light along with capturing some breath vapor. One of my favorite kinds of photos of him.
I was out walking around my property with my camera photographing my Canada goose papa who is protecting his territory from other geese when Cav was down having a good roll.
So I started photographing him and when he was done with his roll, he popped up acting all frisky and feisty. Spring is in the air. Even though Cav is a gelding, he still feels frisky sometimes.

Ce cavalier au sourire de vendeur de voitures d’occasion, qui serait capable de vous vendre une poignée de graviers au prix de l’or, a été photographié au col de Rhotang en 1995. Déjà à l'époque il proposait d'organiser des expéditions équestres pour les rares touristes qui passaient par là.
Himalayan rider
Himachal Pradesh (India) - The horse remains, even today, the best means of circulating in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas to reach the hamlets lost in altitude, located on both sides of the Leh-Manali road.
Some riders, former sedentary nomads, who supply these outlying villages, have partially converted to tourism and offer to join Leh on horseback, rather than taking the bus or renting a 4 x 4 with driver.
This rider with the smile of a used car salesman, who would be able to sell you a handful of gravel at the price of gold, was photographed at the Rhotang pass in 1995. Already at the time he proposed to organize equestrian expeditions for the rare tourists who passed by.

HMS Cavalier (R73) a Royal Navy C Class destroyer serving between 1944 and 1972. I have a particular interest in this ship as my father served on one of her sisters HMS Chevron during his long Royal Navy career. HMS Cavalier is now a museum ship at Chatham Royal Navy Dockyard.

HMS Cavalier is a retired C-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She was laid down by J. Samuel White and Company at East Cowes on 28 March 1943, launched on 7 April 1944, and commissioned on 22 November 1944. She served in World War II and in various commissions in the Far East until she was decommissioned in 1972. After decommissioning she was preserved as a museum ship and currently resides at Chatham Historic Dockyard.
