This is my post for this week's 'Happy Caturday' group theme 'Chillin''. I took the photo earlier this week when it was still very warm and Tofu decided that the chill-out zone of the day was behind the house in the shade. The stones and paving there always stay cool, even in summer. As the weather has changed in the meantime, he now prefers his warm cat bed again. :) Happy Caturday !

During the pelican feeding in the Duisburg zoo this grey heron was able to caught a fish before the pelican could get the fish.

The Grinch© is a character of author and artist Dr. Suess – one fine homeowner set up this display to make for an easy Holiday subject.
Meet Heinrich ! He is one of the new European Otters at the local wildlife park. His female is called Ursula and much shier than her partner. I love them although they are a photographer's nightmare, hyperactive and constantly on the move. As they are always wet they are also very reflective and that doesn't make taking photos of them in bright sunlight any easier. Heinrich had a roll in the grass when I took this shot and when he noticed that I pointed the camera at him, he looked at me in way that reminded me of Cleo whenever I catch her by surprise in a similar position.:) You may have to enlarge the photo to see what I mean.
Caught this hummingbird buzzing in mid-air and stopped the action at 1/1600 sec to show you how fast their wing beat can be. As the light dropped off behind it - it provided for just the right bokeh to show it off.

Money shaped into barn and silo figures is caught without a plan for the future as the morning sun splashes across the scene. Many of us who younger ones call old didn't give that term a thought until one day we woke up and realized we have seen many more sunrises than we have left.
This is not the Norman mentioned in the previous photo description but another very cute draft cross type horse. We caught him having a marvelous roll in the snow and is shaking the extra off here. Sorry for the tight crop, but he was quite far away and there was another horse that wasn't adding to composition so I cut him out! LOL Have a great day everyone. We are expecting snow here later on I think. :)
This swallowtail kept staying so high up that I couldn't get a good shot; finally he came down lower for a drink.
To my way of looking at it, the young raccoon couldn't look more guilty if the bayou were a cookie jar.
Zebras Caught Snuggling
Zebras have not shared a horse's fate of domestication and human use because their biting and kicking habits are too strong, ingrained, unpredictable, and often fatal to humans. Sometimes, it pays to be the wild child.
Caught this woodpigeon in full flight as he pursued his mate over the garden .These birds are fantastic to practice flight photography and your setting !!
