An Australian red cattle dog at play. Australian cattle dogs are a breed that was developed to round up cattle. There are two colour forms with either brown or black hair distributed fairly evenly through a white coat, which gives the appearance of a "red" or "blue" dog. Blue cattle dogs are more common. Taken some time ago.
Thanks for visiting. I am very grateful for the kind comments and faves.
I met this cute pup on Saturday to take his photos. This gorgeous Portuguese Cattle Dog, Ruckus is up for adoption at www.speakingofdogs.com
He has a heart condition and last I heard, there were no applications filled out for him.
He is just 7 months old, a fun rambunctious pup. His foster mom is lovely but I hope this beautiful boy finds his forever home soon.
Named after, yep you guessed it, the corona virus lol.
Rona is the farm owners dog and he got her when covid first hit, hence the name.
She is only young, although she is a working breed she does diddly squat.
She didn't like cats but now she does, she basically has no choice and all the cats quickly put her in her place if she steps out of line.
I had another image up when I remembered that a wonderful friend (and a cracking photographer) lost his wingman this week. ( I thank you for the lovely compliments on that image ) Betty went everywhere the love of her life went. Through the forests of Mount Hood, along the rushing streams, to the deserts too. Betty never let a stranger near enough to her to touch her. She was a polite girl, though, and always offered her green tennis ball for a nice game of toss. She was never aggressive but she only had eyes for her best friend. I don't do a lot of selective coloring in my work, but Betty would not be Betty without her green ball. I hope there are lots of tennis balls in Heaven.
While driving home from our AM hike, I smelled a horrible aroma behind me. *Jasmine* had rolled in something smelly !! Here she is getting a much needed bath !! [ Happy Furry Friday].
Well it is a sad day for me. Ali 15 3/4 couldn't walk any more. She was healthier in most every other way.. I was blessed with an amazing friend and she will be missed. (Fading with age August 30 2009 IMG_4068

My walking buddy. As the weather heats up Sullivan prefers to spend a good bit of time in the creek.
It would be easy to think that cowboys & cowgirls are a thing of the past. Fictional characters only to be found on the silver screen. Not so! They still exist here in Wyoming. Not much has changed on western ranches, where cowboys/cowgirls still do things the old fashioned way. It's pleasing to me they keep some of our western heritage alive. Long live cowpokes!
