Ypache (Apache) is fed up with the run of wintry weather we’ve been having...Six inches of snow, lying for a week, torrential rain for a few days, now, Storm Erik (!) with gale force winds and more torrential rain, is raging around the house and hills.
Consequently, ‘Not-going-out’ has become the collective cat cry, recently. When they do venture out, it’s a very brief sortie to one of the outbuildings or to sit in the rafters of one of the garages. The house has become an indoor playground/feline gym/wrestling ring/chase park/hotel.
Here, she is just turning over on her bean bag, again, to lie down and get another comfortable position...
Come on, SPRING!

For people who don't know, I adore and love cats. They're awesome creatures and even at times they might be assholes, just let them sleep for a while and they'll be ok.

If you haven't met yet, this is Alabama, my backyard kitty. She is an incredible sweetheart. When I have my camera, we have a fun routine where I get at one end of the path, kneel, and she comes carefully walking to me. I've decided after recent photo sessions this is actually very challenging. Once she starts to come, she comes faster and faster till she breaks into a trot as she gets closer. Note how she mostly steps carefully on the stepping stones.
As for the title, I joked she got me a new camera for Christmas so I would spend more time with her. It was pretty dark, sun going down for this session, but if you check the image large, it's still got some beautiful detail.
Lastly, wild California Poppies are springing up EVERYwhere on my property from the couple of decent rains this fall. If they would just last till say March 1, the yard will be a riot of orange. Need more rain to keep it going though.
