'Plan for Cato' is a painting on display in Spa Fields, Clerkenwell. It is one of a series which serve as a memorial to Cato Heath who died in 2010. The artist is Cato's mother, Emma Douglas, who is creating the series of 22 artworks, one for every year of his life. Each will be displayed in a location that was significant to him.

Last weekend we spent three days in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada to attend Aeronaut, a rocket launch event organized by AeroPac. Someone launched a really big rocket, far away for safety. The O-size motor could easily lift a car. The rocket had a CATO (Catastrophe At Take Off) and exploded at the launchpad. Burning motor parts flew through the air. That is what the safety distance is for. Failure is part of rocketry.
I took a photo with a tele-zoom lens and I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure. A mirage can be seen behind the cars.

The old church in the small community of Cato, Arkansas. The church was built in 1872, but closed in the 1960s. Cato used to be a busy little town, but the army constructed Camp Robinson nearby and acquired all of the surrounding land, which cut off access to the Cato. The population swiftly declined afterwards.
Yesterday I visited a member of the the Norwegian Society of Protection of animals that I hadn't met before, to photograph the four single kittens he has in foster care.
This is Cato - a little boy at about 8 weeks old, rescued from walking all by himself along the road far from any houses ♡
