I just noticed that i have been a bit "heavy" the last 2 days, I guess a trip to DC war memorial will do that to you..
So lets lighten the mood a bit with a cool cat with a crazy top hat and some bumpin big bokeh )
RAGBRAI is the largest, oldest and longest recreational bicycle ride in the country. I rode 469 miles across Iowa, ending at the Mississippi River. Almost 20,000 cycling participated. Pork Belly Ventures supported my ride. My team was Berkshires of Massachusetts. The ride was more than just good, it was a spiritual journey! One day I rode over 100 miles, having done the Kerras optional loop.
The towns went all out for the cyclists. Each town we went through was like visiting a state fair!
When we moved to southern Connecticut, New London was having a hard time. There were a lot of empty buildings on its main street, but also several cool murals around town. Maybe they gave someone the idea to add some cool art to the boarded up windows on the Bank Street building above. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an artist name or signature. From a quick online search, it looks like the building is till there, still empty, and still for sale - but with some of the window panels moved and missing. Just for info, this building is a couple doors down from the Hollywood murals I posted a while ago:

So Jet told me he wanted to be the King of the Jungle for Halloween but he really ends up looking more like a member of a bad 80's Hair Band...the morning after. 😹🎃
claws......no longer with us......
He was a family cat of my friends famliy, lovely little thing, so patient with all the dressing up in costumes by those that loved him. Dosile and affectionate, will always have a place in my heart.....
A good friend sent us the perfect costume for Boo Lefou. She knows him too well! LOL

Marky gets the top spot for the card this year... he had a rough year and I am so glad he is better now. Though I did make him wear the elf outfit again, he didn't mind this year because he got the treats.
I rode 360 miles with over 600 bicyclists on the Cycle the Erie Canal tour from Buffalo to Albany in July, 2018.

Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, lived in San Diego and donated considerable funds to UCSD. The main library is named after him. This bronze statue of Geisel with the Cat in the Hat sits in front of the library.
A quick snapshot at work. Item does not belong to me. I'm more into Green Eggs & Hammyself.

These poor characters were dancing their hearts out to some lame song to an audience of about three on a stage hidden way off the beaten path on Seuss Landing.

The sun did not shine.
It was too wet to play.
So we sat in the house
All that cold, cold, wet day.
I sat there with Sally.
We sat there, we two.
And I said, "How I wish
We had something to do!"
Too wet to go out
And too cold to play ball.
So we sat in the house.
We did nothing at all.
So all we could do was to
Sit!
Sit!
Sit!
Sit!
And we did not like it.
Not one little bit.
I picked up a second Zenit XP. because it came with a Helios 44M-4, a Jupiter 37A and 21M. All is working well.

After an hour at the beach (Allenwood) we saw the storm coming in fast. There was lightening! And hail! And huge rivers in the streets! Ah well.
Made for my niece who is expecting her first baby end of July 2020.
Look at the first comment to see first to see the back of the quilt.

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child" ~Dr. Seuss~
I've been a preschool teacher for so long, I couldn't begin to count how many times I've read these books (and countless others) to children...I just hope my reading skills are better than my ability to make "pipe cleaner people!"
