...here are Willow's kittens, out for the very first time in CatChums garden. Playing with the kittens is such great fun, and its very special to catch their first minutes playing in the outdoors.
These wonderful kits already have a home to go to, but lots more coming up over the next few months <3
Little Winnie is staying me for a week while I socialise him for his forever home. Born to a feral mother in the outdoor, Winnie was rescued by Norfolk charity Cat Chums, who I have been taking photos for over the past year. We also adopted our big tabby Fudge from there.
This is my first attempt at fostering. It seem s to be going well and Winnie is purring on my lap at the moment, after a great play session where I got these three photos...

Beginning a week of CatChums kittens is little Tortoiseshell Madison. My favourite thing about these outdoor kitten shoots is having a little play and cuddle with the kits, and Madison was most friendly kit of the day, playing 'Chase the Jonathan' amongst other fun games. Indeed the little one didn't want to go back to mummy and tried to chase me back out again! I was quite tempted to steal her...
I'm trying to up the level for my outdoor shots for CatChums, and here I built a little set made from hessian and straw under a tree for some lovely dappled sunlight. Do hope you enjoy...some of the kits may be availible for adoption, please check the www.catchums.org.uk for details.
Another beautiful tabby kit raised at CatChums. On this occasion it was raining outside so I brought a pretty wicker basket and some straw for a rustic indoor shoot...

...fallow deer stags walk through the sunset on their way to bed :) More from beautiful Holkham next weekend...
In the meantime I've just got home from my other favourite place, CatChums...looks like my studying of lighting and human portraiture techniques have paid off with my best indoor cat portraits yet, sharing tomorrow and all next week :)
...gorgeous three year old Hazey at CatChums is looking for a forever home. Although she is affectionate and purry, she took slight exception to the lighting equipment and it wasn't possible to get a background in her pen.
However, with a few little tricks the window behind her looks a bit like an '80s Lamborghini poster...hehe :) Lots more cats and kittens from Cat Chums coming up.

This glorious tabby boy just left CatChums for his new home, not before hitting me with some fabulous podium posing...
UPDATE - Gertie has been adopted and leaves for her new home soon <3
Having photographed hundreds of rescued cats I've found very few cases of wilful cruelty, nonetheless they are appalling and shocking when they do occur.
Poor Gertie has survived such a situation and is in safe hands now, looking for a loving home. She is super-friendly and I had no idea about her terrible past when I handled her on Saturday.
Taken at six days old at Cat Chums rescue www.catchums.org.uk Cat Chums are running a competition to name the kit on their facebook page !
Braving the high seas up in Cat Chums' crow's nest sits the unlikely named but very cute little Jack Sparrow. Why Jack Sparrow? Well Blackbeard and Henry Morgan are hardly apt names for this little kit. My suggestions of Torrent, Napster and Somalian were sadly rejected.
Why the jovial mood, you may ask. Well I just photographed a family of swans in the middle of thetford Forest of all places, including facial portraits of the cygnets in dappled forest light! Excited! Should have something on here by the end of the week, plus another visit to CatChums is in order too :)
Gorgeous 10 month siamese Lilac is at CatChums and looking for a loving home as an only cat. I so much hope Lilac, Choccie and Rosie and siblings settle with good and kind people. I like to keep my photos happy and positive, but the full details of how these animals came into CatChums care is as heart wrenching as it is frustrating and thoroughly unnecessary. I would hope that anyone wanting a pedigree cat would either have a rescue or if it must be a breeder thoroughly check the cats' vets records and report any wrongdoing.
Moving forward, I have a super romantic sunset swan for you tomorrow, then next week lots and lots of !!!KITTENS!!! <3
EDIT...Lilac has now been rehomed :)
I'm often reminded of fairytales when I visit CatChums, but surely Rosie's tale must qualify best. Bred for beauty, then living as an unloved showcat Rosie now sits sadly atop her abandoned tower, waiting for somebody to love her.
Luckily the tower is made from soft furnishings and is at CatChums so she is in safe hands. Rosie will need to be an only cat and will need a great deal of love and attention from somebody who has some knowledge of the Siamese breed. I've thought about poor Rosie a lot and am so much hoping she gets the fairytale ending she deserves x
Beautiful and temperate supermum Martha has had a mammoth seven kittens at CatChums. Over the next week or two we will take a close look at each and every one of them...

After Winnie's run and hide session yesterday I had to abandon my outside and living room photo plans and convert a bedroom into a very small studio. Winnie loved it in the box...at one stage he nearly fell asleep while I was curled on the floor with my camera!
Sadly, he's being collected tomorrow. A few people have asked me if I will be adopting him. Much as I'd love to, we already have our own cats here plus a little spare space. I took the decision to become a fosterer for CatChums very seriously, and if I waver and adopt the foster cats sooner or later I will not be able to foster or adopt any more. Cat Chums always run home checks and I'm confident Winnie will find a caring, loving home very soon.
Having said that, I'm starting to cry writing this, but that isn't exactly unexpected! <3
...although perhaps resembling a rabbit. Willow is at CatChums and taking good care of her beautiful kittens, as well as cuddling people like me. Supersoft grey fur with huge bright amber eyes make yummy mummy Willow quite irresistible <3
Photos of the kits coming up tomorrow, and once they're hopped off Willow will be seeking a forever home...
