Annecy Venetian Carnival
As every year, more than 300 Venetian masks and costumes strolled freely through the streets of old Annecy and on the ledge of the lake. No one knows who is behind these sumptuous and wonderful costumes and masks.

Le Vieux Port - Marseille
Het Carnaval de Marseille is een populair, luidruchtig en kleurrijk lentefeest. Het is geen traditioneel katholiek carnavalsfeest van drie dagen, maar functioneert als een groot cultureel en artistiek volksfeest. Tijdens de editie van 2026, op zaterdag 25 april 2026, vond het carnaval plaats rond de Vieux-Port. Elk jaar staat het carnaval in het teken van een maatschappelijk thema. De optocht is gratis toegankelijk. Honderden straatartiesten, dansers, verenigingen en fanfares trekken dan door de straten met enorme allegorische praalwagens.
The Carnaval de Marseille is a popular, boisterous, and colorful spring festival. It is not a traditional three-day Catholic carnival, but functions as a major cultural and artistic folk festival. During the 2026 edition, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, the carnival took place around the Vieux-Port. Each year, the carnival centers around a social theme. The parade is free to attend. Hundreds of street artists, dancers, associations, and marching bands parade through the streets with enormous allegorical floats.
Realizado para el concurso para seleccionar el cartel del carnaval 2009. No quedé seleccionado. Por lo que he podido leer como que ha habido sospechas en la elección del ganador que parece no cumplÃa los requesitos. Ojala no sea cierto eso.
i made this poster for another contest for the Carnaval de Cadiz. I wasn´t selected. And the sad thing is that there arr people saying that the winner was selected long time ago and that the poster didnpt fullfilled all the requirements. I hope is not true...
It is impossible to state the importance of Carnaval to South Americans. Although places like Rio get the major hype (and rightfully so) smaller areas also showcase their diverse cultures and traditions throughout this festive event. This photo was taken in the small town of Tupiza which is in south-east Bolivia. The best part was not realizing it was the day of the parade, rushing out with my camera and finding the perfect spot. An incredible experience.
