A brief experiment in long exposures to shoot cars on a road. I was scouting for a good spot, and this seems to be fine! Not the best shot in the world but I'll be back there!
On my way to getting gas and food, I had to capture the beauty of the clouds over the mountains. Clouds don't stick around too often here but when they do, they offer a majestic, whole new way of looking at the mountains.
Night shot at an intersection near Suntec City (Rochor Rd./Beach Rd.). The photo was taken with a Nikon - Nikonos V - actually an underwater camera - with slide film for an ongoing project at that time - weird setup but it worked out wonderfully in the end.
On a quiet back road that crosses near the Clackmannanshire Bridge, looking towards Alloa and the Ochil Hills. Two 30 sec exposure combined; one vehicle passing in a different direction in each.
Taken out the car window on the way home from the concert. I love doing this light paintings using the street and car lights. These remind me of hair pins.
This is the view that you can see from the Mint Hotel from the top floor on the Sky Lounge. Really amazing!
View down my driveway, the street and the field across the street just as it's becoming dark enough for the street lights to turn on.
Netherlands, Rotterdam, Puck van Heelstraat, near the "Pathe De Kuip" cinema multiplex. On a Saturday night.
This was taken as part of the HooHaa52 Challenge. The topic for this week was "Night".
When I heard what the topic was going to be, this image came to mind. Finding the time to get out and attempt the shot was a different matter. When I finally found a night that worked well, it was windy. I got all set up before realizing I didn't have a memory card with me. So I had to drive home and come back. I finally got set up and was taking images up until my camera's battery died. This was one of the ones I liked most because I was able to get cars going both directions and streaks through the enter shot. It wasn't until later, when talking in the group discussion, that I realized one mistake I made. I'm so used to shooting the night sky that I forgot to reset the F-Stop for F/20+ instead of F/4. That might have changed a few things. Oh well. Something to try again someday.
I had been shooting at a different angle, but then decided to switch it to this angle to get the flags. I liked the addition of the flags waving in the shot.
Experimenting with slow shutter speeds on a bridge over the highway.
You can see our own parked car on the left, and the lights are from a garbage truck passing by.
