Long week...
Lost my tripod quick shoe late last week, slammed with work (good ole Iraq) this week. When the replacement arrived today I needed to get out for at least a short bit, so headed somewhere close.
Appears on Prince of Petworth.
Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles, as seen from the Hollywood Bowl scenic overlook (officially, the Jerome C. Daniel overlook) at sunrise. After getting up early nearly a dozen times to visit this spot, finally a decent sunrise materialized.
Fun Fact: the blinking light on top of the Capitol Records building spells "Hollywood" in morse code.
Nikon D90, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 @ f/8, ISO 200. Nearly a minute of exposure to get the light streaks from the cars, sky @ 1/50 sec.
Maybe I should have taken this one out of the oven a little sooner.
Grampian Transport Museum based in Alford Aberdeenshire Scotland host various activities throughout the summer months, today 2/7/17 I attended their Speedfest event, this is the third year I've enjoyed the specialist cars on display,
British Aston Martins and Jaguars, Italian Lamborghinis and Ferraris and German Audis and BMWs being to the fore.
The theme this year is rally sport and ancient and modern rally cars put through their paces on the museum’s road circuit.
This Porsche Caymen caught my eye with its unusual paint job, and advertising logo for a forthcoming charity event, I've included further details below of thecannonbawzrun.

Cannonbawzrun Charity Event.
Kris O'Neil states - The cannon Bawz run was an idea that came from my love of the 1980’s burt Reynolds film, my love of cars and an idea to raise some cash for charity. One of which is the Marfan Association which is very close to me as my brother, best friend and hero Liam has.
The condition effects the heart lungs eyes and connective tissue around the body and my brother has undergone years of heart surgery his first when he was only 7.
I have done many small charity events in the past and always wanted to try something different , Scotland has some incredible roads and scenery and I love driving so thought why not try and create a car rally like something similar to the Cannon Ball Run? So the Scottish version the Cannon Bawz Run was born. I quickly gained the support of local business, Design Signs and Graphics who very kindly donated the stickers t-shirts and decals on the first CannonBawz , AM Detail kindly gave goody bags with products to present to the entrants of the rally. The date was set and the meeting place agreed and on August 30th 2015, the first annual Cannon Bawz run began.
I woke that morning with excitement and slight apprehension. We had put in a lot of ground work organising, advertising , prizes, t-shirts and stickers etc. As I arrived at the meeting point I was so happy to see that I was not alone and a vast array of vehicles from sports cars to Range Rovers had turned up. After a greeting and rally debrief we were on our way, starting our journey that would take us 500 miles around Scotland’s incredible roads and coastal views.
TAKING PLACE ON THE 19TH TO THE 20TH OF AUGUST 2017

Cayman
The Porsche Cayman is a rear mid-engined, rear wheel drive 2-seat sports car produced by Porsche AG of Germany. First launched in the 2006 model year, the Cayman is a coupé derived from Porsche's second and third generation Boxster roadster. The designer of the first generation of Porsche Cayman was Pinky Lai. Like the Boxster, most Caymans were assembled in Finland for Porsche by Valmet Automotive (the rest were assembled in Zuffenhausen, Stuttgart, Germany).
Porsche's Deputy Chairman, Holger P. Haerter stated that the contract with Valmet Automotive will end in 2012, and the Cayman's production was to be outsourced to Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria.[3] However, as Volkswagen assumed control of Porsche AG, production of Caymans and Boxsters after 2012 began in the former Karmann plant in Osnabrück, Germany, which is now owned by Volkswagen and also used for production of the 2012 Golf (Mk6) convertible.
Name
Cayman is an alternative spelling of caiman, a reptile in the same family as the alligator. The car is not named after the Cayman Islands; rather the islands also derive their name from the caiman. When the first Caymans arrived at dealerships for sale, the automaker adopted four caimans at Stuttgart's Wilhelma Zoo.
Porsche brought an infringement lawsuit in 2009 against Crocs, the maker of the popular rubber shoes. At issue was the footwear company's clog name also called Cayman. An injunction was granted against Crocs Europe, a division of the Longmont, Colorado-based shoe company preventing their use in Germany of the Cayman name.

Not often you get to set up a tripod in the middle of Sixth Street in Austin. They closed it off for SXSW.
A couple of quotes from; wikitravel.org/en/Copenhagen/Vestegnen
"Vestegnen ( litt: The Western Region) is a suburban district west of inner Copenhagen, Denmark, mostly build up during the 1970-80s. There is little of general interest to travellers here..."
and
"Locals tend to see this as a string of separate towns, usually called by the name of the nearest S-train station, but there would not be much point in listing each of these separately in a travel guide, as each on its own has little to offer."
Be warned! :-D

I wanted to have a great picture to start 2009, but I spent the day hanging out with my favorite people, watching movies, going out to dinner, exchanging late Christmas presents & giggling, so I didn't get around to it. This was shot driving home from dinner on Jan. 1. here's to a great new year full of possibilities!
I've never been a new year's resolution type, but seeing everyone else's makes me want to get in on the action, so I think that now is a good a time as any to try to make changes.
-Don't let my job take over my life
-Don't stress out about little things & focus more on the positive aspects of life
-Care less about what others think of me/be more confident
-Read more
-Exercise more
-Learn more about my camera and about photography. Get creative. Take more portraits. Learn about photoshop.
-Try to do more for others.
-Send people letters. Make calls.
Happy New Year everyone!

Taken at an intersection (about a month ago). The lights that look like shooting stars are traffic lights and to the right is a Petro Canada gas station
Light trails are always fun to shoot!
Thought i would experiment a bit!
I secured my camera in the front of the car & did a long exposure as i drove along.
The red lights are from a car in front, white lights on right are oncoming vehicles, & the lights at the top are street lights.
Somehow managed to miss this one. While I was busy copying my other photos with me to upload them at home, I forgot this one.
So, here you go.
Geez, backlogging sucks. Now I know what you mean, Ric!

This is the first site i have been able to find that has both on and off slip roads visible together with the motorway sandwiched in the middle.
While i was taking pictures at this site i missed a police car with its bule lights on coming off at the left hand slip road and then turning right to go over the bridge, i think he must have been going to a burglary in progress because he only had his blue lights on and nothing else all the way.
This is the 3rd time i have been taking light trails and the emergency services have gone by, and its the 3rd time i have missed them all.

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.
I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.
I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in and around the North East of England.
All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.
I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.
All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.
I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.
