This is a combination of no flash, but with the (long distance) carlights on - and looooong exposure: by that I was able to 'be at two places at the same time' in this kind of self portrait.

It's a vision on the top of "Salgado Filho" airport's parking lot, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

This is the first site i have been able to find that has both on and off slip roads visible together with the motorway sandwiched in the middle.

While i was taking pictures at this site i missed a police car with its bule lights on coming off at the left hand slip road and then turning right to go over the bridge, i think he must have been going to a burglary in progress because he only had his blue lights on and nothing else all the way.

This is the 3rd time i have been taking light trails and the emergency services have gone by, and its the 3rd time i have missed them all.

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.

I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.

I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in and around the North East of England.

All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.

I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.

All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.

I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.

For a number of reasons, I don't do a lot of modeling for other people these days. But when my friend Juli of

JVD Photo wanted some help testing some ideas she had, I was happy to go be her guinea pig :)

This particular photo has the distinction of being taken just before a small group of Mormons cruising around on their bikes drove through our shoot. I suppose if men are going to interrupt one's shoot, at least it was incredibly polite Mormons ;)

Nicest thing about these shots, my Mom was hanging out with me as I took them before we went to the evening service at church. Thanks Mama, it was fun sharing my hobby with you! :0)

When crossing the dimensional divide, always follow the speed limit.

Those transdimensional traffic cops are real assholes.

Long exposures of cars as they make the hairpint turn on Pali Hwy.

Out during the fog. I loved how the colours of the lamps an the car lights looked together

I use SmugMug for my website and have been really happy with them. A week or so ago I won a competition through the SmugMug Facebook page and received this hoodie in the post this morning which was my prize. I shall wear it with pride until it is worn out!

This was a 6 second exposure with flash.

A passing car lights up the street on a recent evening. The moon was nearly full as well, which provided some extra light effects from above...

No Aurora Borealis so I had to find different kind of light :-)

Shortly after sunset at Scholl Canyon, Glendale California.

Nikon D90, Tokina 11-16mm at 11mm, f/10, ISO 200. HDR using 90 seconds of cloud movement (9 exposures) for the sky plus several additional minutes of exposure to capture more lights on the ground.

This is the bit of cardboard i found inside the box my printer came in, it was used to wrap the plug and electrical cable in. It instantly made me Smile.

In a nearby area....that once was a children's camp...now an eclectic collection of small cottages, and year-round homes...a variety of scenes I saw last Friday...on another snowy day ( no mail delivery...no newspaper today...the highway closed again...)

daily rains and extra humidty are bringing this summer to it's end.

Taken for Assignment52 week 7.

Cars were passing by the area where I was shooting the Milky Way galactic core so I took the opportunity to catch some streaks.

A shot across the bay fountain pool to the futuristic blue building opposite..its a car park! I was pleased with the car light trails and starburts offered by the long exposure but failed to notice the spray from the fountain on my lense. grrrr.

Light trails of cars with the moon somewhere on the A19, it was a good night for photography, it was not cold (for a change) we had a beautiful full moon and i saw a Aston Martin one-77 for the very first time, the fastest naturally aspirated car in the world, and i am likely to never seen one ever again as they have only been on sale for 5 months and there is only 77 of them in the whole world, yet the McLaren F1 has been on sale for 19 years and there is 71 of them and i still have never seen a McLaren F1.

This is Lloyds TSB Bank, this is not the perfect picture i was hoping for, i waited here for 20 minutes for cars to move away from the front of the building so i could get a nice clear shot of the building without anything getting in front of it.

But half way through the exposure a young women walks around the corner of the building from right to left and can just be seen using the cash machine.

I would not normally keep a shot that i though was less than perfect but i did not want to wait another 20 minutes for the front of the building to clear again, so here it is, this is the final picture, it will just have to do.
