This week, it's leading lines. I tried my hand at creating light trails from car lights. Create the trails, but I'm not too excited about the composition.

Light trails of cars with the moon somewhere on the A19, it was a good night for photography, it was not cold (for a change) we had a beautiful full moon and i saw a Aston Martin one-77 for the very first time, the fastest naturally aspirated car in the world, and i am likely to never seen one ever again as they have only been on sale for 5 months and there is only 77 of them in the whole world, yet the McLaren F1 has been on sale for 19 years and there is 71 of them and i still have never seen a McLaren F1.

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.

I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.

I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in and around the North East of England.

All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.

I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.

All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.

I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.

View On Black

A 64sec exposure of the new Sheppey crossing with a lone car travelling past. Viewed looking towards Sittingbourne.

NB Entered in FDCC Dec comp - Scored Eighteen/Twenty....

Forth Road Bridge detour. Rush hour traffic heading left over the Clackmannanshire Bridge, right over the Kincardine Bridge to Fiffe (if you're a bus or truck.

The city of Newport, South Wales. Taken at night looking out over the river Usk. On the far right of the picture is the new footbridge spanning the river, with the 'wave' sculpture to its side. On the far left is the ruins of the old castle.

I timed this 30 second exposure so that the cars were stationary for the first half and moving for the second. As a result, you can actually see the path of every stopped car once the light tuned green.

The Melbourne Rectangular Stadium (officially named AAMI Park since March 2010) is situated just south-east of the city. It is the first purpose built rectangular stadium in Melbourne as opposed to the typical oval stadium constructions used for Australian Football. The stadium's 190mn AUD construction began in 2007 and it was first opened in 2010. Today it holds 31,000 visitors with a potential of expansion to up to 50,000 seats. Personally, I prefer one of nicknames over the offical name - the "Bubble Stadium" which reminds me of its exterior shape.

Technique:

The panorama consists of 4x2 shots, but is now equivalent to the size of a 6 shot panorama due to cropping. I used DxO Optics 6 to import the files, while correcting for lens barrel effects and sharpness of my camera sensor. I then stitched the panorama with Autopano Pro 2 and postprocessed in Bridge can PS CS5.

Print:

The pano has almost 40 Megapixels and takes about 350 Megabytes of harddisc space in compressed TIFF format. It can be printed at 2.4x1.8m at 72 DPI.

Tunnel View is a scenic overlook on State Route 41 in Yosemite National Park. The iconic and expansive view of Yosemite Valley from the viewpoint have been seen and documented by visitors since it opened in 1933. From here you can see El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall rising from Yosemite Valley, with Half Dome in the background.

When the world never ceases to go by..

And you simply grew tired from running by its side..

So you stop to sit and sigh..

And that's when you see its beauty hidden from the many nearby..

Looking south from Q1 last Sunday night. By far my favourite shot I've taken to date! Inspired by dariodownunder.

I'm having fun with light in Louisville. This is on the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge over the Ohio River that connects Louisville, Kentucky to Jeffersonville, Indiana.

So here I am taking long exposure shots of the city traffic in downtown Taipei, when this taxi pulls over right in the middle of the frame, making for a far more interesting picture!

Charles/bignastyweather invited me to join him on a night shoot at Vista House and a couple of locals in Washington State. As we approached Vista House the fog grew progressively more dense, visibility was down to a few yards at times. After some experiments with flashlight that didn't work out we took turns using Charles' car to light paint and make some head/tail light pictures. For this one Charles drove - Thanks Charles!
