Canon EOS 550D + Sigma 30mm F1.4

Rainy day in Ghent

A couple of nearby hotels (off to the left of frame) throw this bright light onto the bridge. This location is easily accessible from a nice bike/walkway that runs along the Columbia River here in Astoria. The river and the appearance of this wonderful field of old pilings is affected by the tides. While exploring various photo opportunities of the bridge from along this stretch of the walkway I first heard and then saw a family of raccoons walking across the mud flat near the waters edge among the old pilings. I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.

I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.

I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in and around the North East of England.

All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.

I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.

All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.

I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.

So here I am taking long exposure shots of the city traffic in downtown Taipei, when this taxi pulls over right in the middle of the frame, making for a far more interesting picture!

Charles/bignastyweather invited me to join him on a night shoot at Vista House and a couple of locals in Washington State. As we approached Vista House the fog grew progressively more dense, visibility was down to a few yards at times. After some experiments with flashlight that didn't work out we took turns using Charles' car to light paint and make some head/tail light pictures. For this one Charles drove - Thanks Charles! Taste test the soup, view large on black. 30sec, f4, ISO200 N11409

10.30 - What's funny is that I had no idea Camel's Hump was in the shot until maybe 4 photos in. The moon was lighting up the bypass, but the horizon was still fairly dim. It's awesome how it works out sometimes.

Car light trails on M50 facing North bound at blue hour. Photo taken from Sandyford Road Bridge.Dublin, Ireland. Photo was taken during Friday evening rush. Unfortunately, the traffic in the left lanes heading northbound was very slow moving. The blue light was a police car. It was a dull overcast evening but there was fabulous bright light in the sky where the sun had set. If I had waited until the traffic was more free moving this light in the sky would have disappeared.

It was the first time I used my Manfrotto 190 Tripod for long exposure car light trails. The sides of the bridge here are quite high. With four leg sections the Manfrotto was able to lift my camera high enough to get good shots.

Another shot of Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
