I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.
Layered night scene with flowing traffic, a luminous office block, and the church tower anchoring the background. Mild highlight control and selective burning to keep the eye in the center.
500px Photo ID: 170020993 - Just something that happened while I was waiting for the Milky Way to make its appearance. I liked the touch the car lights gave the scene.
The light painting on the hills was provided by a car as it drove along Hwy 190 at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley.

January 21, 2015: 21/365 (2578/2992)- I originally went to the bridge at twilight to get some long-exposure shots of taillights and headlights going over the Hathaway Bridge, so getting the almost new moon setting at the same time was just a bonus!
I usually tend to photograph nature, whether it be dramatic landscapes or wildlife. I recently vowed to make more of an effort to photograph the city I live in more. It can be pretty dramatic in its own way.
Well you might have noticed I found a new girlfriend. Again a very confinding bird, but as I see her habits how to hunt for mice I'm afraid our relation won't last long....
As I'm a birdbander too, 75% of the recoveries of kestrels are due to trafficvictims. She must be playing with fire!
Palm trees line a deserted, dimly lit road, creating a serene nighttime scene. Light trails from passing vehicles add a dynamic element to the otherwise still environment.
Light trails of cars with the moon. It was a good night for photography, it was not cold (for a change) we had a beautiful full moon and i saw a Aston Martin one-77 for the very first time, the fastest naturally aspirated car in the world, and i am likely to never see one ever again as they have only been on sale for 5 months and there is only 77 of them in the whole world, yet the McLaren F1 has been on sale for 19 years and there is 71 of them and i still have never seen a McLaren F1.

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.
I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.
I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in and around the North East of England.
All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.
I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.
All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.
I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.

I struggled with trying to get this shot for quite a while. I had nothing to focus except a single tree. But everytime the tree was brought into focus, the bokeh was so overwhelming you couldn't see it anymore.
So I settled on this partially out of focus shot for the main tree, with the additional lights in the background.
A 1953 Humber Super Snipe Drophead Coupe and a period caravan, possibly a Carlight.
The antithesis of of the caravanning approach depicted in my previous photo!
Otro tipo de pintura con luz es el que se puede conseguir con el movimiento de los autos y sus luces durante la noche gracias a la fotografía de larga exposición. Sabiendo esto, decidí ir al Angus L Macdonald Bridge, uno de los dos puentes icónicos de Halifax para capturar está idea.
Fue una gran sorpresa ver qué aunque ya eran las 10 de la noche entre semana no había tantos autos como imaginé ya que quería capturar un río de luces de autos como hace algunos años conseguí, pero aún así decidí intentarlo.
El único control que se puede tener para está idea es la composición final de la imagen y de ahí solo queda esperar que los autos hagan su magia. De esta forma se logran obtener imágenes realmente asombrosas y distintas en cada toma y lo más increíble de esto es pensar que una persona va viajando en ese trazo de luz hacia algún destino incierto!
A third image from the return EBS (expose both sides) project, with hodachrome (one of my absolute favourite photographers!). This film swap took the following process: I shot a roll of film on the "normal" side, rewound (leaving the end of the film still poking out of the magazine) and posted this to Hodaka in Japan, who then reversed and rewound the film, and shot the roll again so that the second exposure was shot on the "wrong" side. When shooting on the reverse side, the image is "red scaled" - all colours become shades of red, so the images are a combination of true and red scaled colours. With this first image I snapped a low down image of commuters in a foot passage near South Kensington Station in London, then hodachrome shot Chuo Freeway at night, near his home in Gifu in Japan. I love the combination of themes and colours here..
