View from 57 stories up on the IDS Tower. You can see the Wells Fargo Center, Hennepin Ave Bridge, Minneapolis Central Library, and Lowry Ave Bridge far off in the distance.
Taken in Futian district. It's actually a merge of a short and long exposure to get a still flag all the while capturing those creamy carlight trails. The numerous flags are due to the proximity with the Chinese national holiday (Oct. 1).
In Memory Of Daniel Pelka... Rest in Peace Little Guy !
This is a tribute picture for a little guy Daniel which died of a head injury in March last year after a campaign of abuse by his mother and his stepfather, both of whom were jailed for a minimum of 30 years for his murder following a trial this year.. I say 30 years is not enough !!!

The Shot
Another shot from my last day trip to London early in November. The trail was formed from a London Bus passing. There were 3 images. The first had most of the trail, the second had the continuation along the bridge from the next image in the sequence. The last was an image with fewer people on the left. The images were layered and combined using layer masks.
The picture was taken with a Tripod with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10mm. A false HDR was done by creating extra images from the RAW file of the first image.
The HDR was created using Photmatix and tonemapped tone compressor for the most natural look.
Additional enhancements were made in Topaz adjust and adjustment layers in Photoshop.
Full details of the processing together with before and after images are on my Blog see Edwin Jones Photography Blog

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. The largest mosque in the country, it is the key place of worship for Friday gathering and prayers. During Religious festive season it may be visited by more than 41,000 people.
The Grand Mosque was constructed between 1996 and 2007. It was designed by Syrian architect Yousef Abdelky. The building complex measures approximately 290 m (960 ft) by 420 m (1,380 ft), covering an area of more than 12 hectares (30 acres), excluding exterior landscaping and vehicle parking.
I took the photo at the Ritz Carlson. In the photo, it shows the Ritz Carlson entrance and with a long exposure, you see the trace of lights from vehicles entering and leaving the premise.

Trying something a bit different with the ND Filter (10 stop). I'm sure the drivers were a bit worried I was a speed cam!
Hello my friends! 2 more days left in 2010!!
SEE IT LARGE!!! FOR ALL THE FULL FRAME GOOD STUFF!!!
I've wanted this photograph in my stream for a long time, and it's finally here and fitting it will be my last photo posted here in 2010.
This is a typical postcard scene from the ROM in Toronto, Ontario. Established in 1912 the Royal Ontario Museum has been open and housing items for decades, but only since 2007 has it been a buzzing place for photographers. In 2007 the buildings facade was redesigned by American architect Daniel Libeskind to incorporate a crystal like feature.
The overall aim of the Crystal is to provide openness and accessibility. It seeks to blur the lines between the threshold between the public area of the street and the more private area of the museum.
I love to photograph interesting architecture so this was a blast to shoot, but unfortunately for me when I went to Toronto the road in front of the building was being repaired by the city so there were a dozen or so orange and black pylons in front and the traffic was moving really slow because of the construction.
Fortunately I have a Big Stopper!! I was able to use a 5 second exposure and get great results with the car lights. Then I did some quick clone work to remove the pylons, not my best work haha, but whatever I'm in a hurry it's almost 2011!!!
I hope you enjoy another photograph from my Toronto 2010 series. Plenty more to come, stay tuned in 2011.

Hello my friends, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and I hope you're all prepping for a joyous New Year's celebration. Too bad for me I have to work right through the countdown and into the new year, 11-7am on the 31st, booooooooo!!! Oh well I got 5 days off around Christmas to go home and visit my family which was great.
This will be my last photo of 2010, I want to sincerely thank all of you who have visited my stream and stopped by to comment on my photos in 2010. It was a slow year on Flickr for me, but a really busy year for me in my life, I got married to my beautiful wife Laurie, started a new job, got all new camera gear and travelled a bit in the summer. I also started making a bit more money on my photography. Which is always a plus these days.
Happy New Year everyone, be safe and have a good time, see you in 2011!!!! =)

Do you see it? The highway (62) is not visible, but the car lights are, if you look closely. Photographed in east Joshua Tree National Park wilderness area, and trying to pinpoint my car parked somewhere on the highway before total darkness sets in!
I was up early in the morning this day to take pictures in a place I noticed, along the N10 road toward Les-Essarts-Le-Roi, Yvelines. It was toward 7h00 or 7h15, and this photo looks to the south west, to the opposite of the sun.
The shutter speed is 0.5 sec, which is not slow enough to have long trails of the car lights...
The streetlights do not work on the right lane, they still do not work today.
Friendly to all photographers !
