Carl Sagan, Cosmos, 1980
This simple house was the home of a long time small farmer named Carl. I haven't been able to find out a lot about him,other than he left this simple farm around 2009. The house, though pretty empty, still holds antiques and some classic mementos from his life...

There was still some misty atmosphere looking towards Padley Gorge so I started looking in that direction for compositions. The early light on the bracken and rocks looked too nice to ignore.
Watching any owl in flight is an adrenaline rush but getting an opportunity to watch a barn owl flying is a special treat!

El Pilar de Carlos V, está situado en el bosque de la Alhambra, muy cerca de la puerta de la Justicia, una de las entradas de la Alhambra.
Su estructura ensalzaba la grandeza del Emperador, y sirvió como abrevadero de las caballería de Carlos V.
Una pila rectangular, tres calles centradas por mascarones que expulsan caños de agua por la boca, el semicírculo superior encierra el escudo imperial.
Un lugar perfecto para descansar en el gran banco de piedra bajo la sombra de los árboles.

Willow Flycatchers are drab brownish-olive birds that are best known for their voice—a sneezy fitz-bew that emanates from wet willow thickets across North America.
Must admit to having to ask Ade where I took this from. I wasn't happy with "somewhere near Loweswater," so he spent half an hour on his map app to find out. He loves it really.
Carl Zeiss C/Y Planar 50mm f1.4 is the most modern of my vintage lenses. I have to admit that I see no obvious difference with Planar made for Rollei Cameras. At least wide open. There are mant reviews of Planar lenses and in general, the bokeh they produced is at low esteem. It is not extraordinary swirly or bubbly , yet it is far from well controlled bokeh of modern lenses. However, if used to its strengths it produces the images I like very much.
It is made in Japan, probably by Tomioka. Design and quality control were made by Zeiss.

After cloud and rain yesterday, the sunrise this morning was with mostly clear skies and the light was harsh.
On the drive up to the Eastern Sierras, my buddy Jeff and I stopped to see the Milky Way. Was amazing to see it painted across the sky.
