Greetings, happy week.
Take care of each other and all creatures great and small in these strange days. This world is all we've got. 🐭❤️
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
And if everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
I wish all of you a beautiful week. I will be back on Saturday. And no, I’m not on vacation 😉. I earned a little Corona run-out.
In diesem Sinne wünsche ich Euch allen eine wundervolle Woche. Ich werd am Samstag wieder hier sein. Und, NEIN, ich hab keinen Urlaub 😉. Ich hab Corona Auslauf bekommen.

Macro Mondays' theme "Handle with care" : A dry rose and a small, fragile glass.
HMM and have a wonderful week ahead!
"If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
And I'm singing
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive"
(I specifically wanted to keep a dark background to give more meaning to the words in the description.) Thank you ♥

Ooh, I’ve been dirt
And I don’t care
Ooh, I’ve been dirt
And I don’t care
‘Cause I’m burning inside
‘Cause I’m burning inside
I’m the fire of life
Yeah, alright.
Ooh, I’ve been hurt
And I don’t care
Ooh, I’ve been hurt
And I don’t care
‘Cause I’m burning inside
‘Cause I’m burning inside
And do you feel it?
Said do you feel it when you touch me?
Said do you feel it when you touch me?
I’m a fire
Well there’s a fire
Yeah, alright
It’s just a burning inside
It’s just a burning inside
Said do you feel it
Said do you feel it when you cut me
Said do you feel it when you cut me
There’s a fire
There’s a fire
A fire
Inside
I was just dreaming
While waiting for a clear shot of the Torii Gates at the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, I saw this loving couple with the gentleman tenderly guiding the lady through the gate. It is such a beautiful sight that I had to get a snapshot of this couple. While I did not get any clear shot of the gate, I was delighted to be able to come away with this photo.
Beautiful gerberas. They are so photogenic with their simple forms and delicate, intricate centres. But like all flowers, they're fragile and only live if they're handled with care and looked after lovingly.
Here's the music I've chosen to go with them. Famous and wonderful faces, voices and harmonica playing here if you're of my generation - please right click and open in a new tab.

"I never cared:
- I never cared if you were “gay“ until you started shoving it in my face, and the faces of our children.
- I never cared what colour you were, until you started blaming my race for your problems.
- I never cared about your political affiliation until you started to condemn me for mine.
- I never cared where you were born until you wanted to erase my history and blame my ancestors for your current problems.
- I never cared if you were well-off or poor, until you said you were discriminated against, when I was promoted because I worked harder.
- I never cared if your beliefs were different from mine, until you said my beliefs were wrong.
Now I care !
My patience and tolerance are gone.
I’m not alone in feeling this way there are millions of us who do......
and we have had enough !"

St Andrew's Church in Winterborne Tomson, Dorset, England, was built in the 12th century. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is a redundant church in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It was declared redundant on 1 June 1972, and was vested in the Trust on 26 March 1974.
The small flint and stone Norman Anglican Church of St Andrew has an apse at the east end and a barrel vault roof which curves around it. The roof was replaced and windows inserted in the 16th century. The oak door is heavily studded. The interior has limewashed walls, a 15th-century font and flag stone floor, along with early 18th-century oak fittings. The eighteenth century oak pews, the pulpit, screen, communion rails and matching table with barley sugar turned legs, and other woodwork were provided by William Wake, Archbishop of Canterbury, who had been raised in the village of Shapwick and whose family lived locally. The west end has a late medieval gallery with a panelled front which was probably originally a rood screen. The roof is topped by a small weatherboard belfry which resembles a dovecote.
By the early 20th century, the church had fallen into disrepair and was being used as an animal shelter by a local farmer. Repairs were paid for by the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings who sold a collection of Thomas Hardy’s manuscripts to raise the funding. The work was supervised by A. R. Powys who also oversaw the work at the Old St Cuthbert's Church, Oborne

Macro Mondays -- theme "Handle"
This is the handle from a glass cream jug, part of a sugar bowl/creamer set that belonged to my mother. The latter part makes it very precious to me. :-)
In these days where the Corona-virus (COVID-19) is ruling the world, we have to take care and look after each other.
I hope everybody is well.
With this plaque I want to end my photo-series about the Matsumoto Castle, Matsumoto City, Nagano, Japan.

We have a lot of deer living in the neighborhood. Too many really. Every once in a while one comes through that's worth taking a picture of. He didn't stick around too long after he saw my camera but I managed a few pictures.
otherwise it is broken easily...

Picture done for the Grove Art Center's Photo Club this upcoming Saturday 31th of May 25.
This weeks Theme is - Self Care. Photo Club meets every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. slt. Feel free to join, everyone is welcome, with or without a picture.
Self care does not always have to be big, expensive or complicated. I have learned that less is often more.
Sometimes, it is as simple as stepping outside, breathing in the evening air, and watching the sunset. Just letting myself soak in the present moment.
There is something deeply calming about watching the sun set by the sea. As the sky softens into shades of gold and rose, and the waves gently meet the shore, the world seems to quiet down.
With the rhythmic sound of the ocean, the salty air, and the cool breeze brushing against my skin, it feels like nature is reminding me to breathe again.
My thoughts begin to slow. The weight on my chest and shoulders lifts just a little. And in that stillness, I feel my soul begin to soften.
There is something truly healing about moments like these, the way the sky shifts through colors, like it is learning to let go of the day with grace.
It does not ask anything of me. It just is. And in that silence, I find a kind of inner peace and a quiet contentment that is hard to put into words.
So if the day feels heavy or my mind is tired, I remind myself to be gentle. Sometimes all I need is to step outside and watch the sky. Let the sunset hold space for me. It is a small act of self care, but it does so much good for my mind, heart, and soul.
I deserve moments like that. 🌅💛So does everyone else too..

The Hooded Merganser has caught a fish - I'm not sure exactly what - thought it might be a penpoint gunnel but it doesn't really look like the online photos and drawings I found. I'm sure the Hoodie didn't care, and the truth is neither do I.
Meanwhile, the fish appears to be taking one final look at the world before disappearing down the hatch. So it goes when you're not all that high on the food chain. Needless to say, I shot a burst. Strange that it took 17 years to determine which was the best shot. I guess I was too immature at age 60 to figure that out. (In reality, files tend to disappear into my back pages, and sometimes I forget to return to a given sequence to reassess. Better late than never, I guess.)
