This Ptarmigan (Lagopus mutus) was photographed in the Scottish Cairngorms a little while ago.
I had a short search about the house and garage but I couldn't find any interesting items for the theme. I then thought of a paper flower that I had prepared before and I then started folding. At first I was a little disappointed but when I got up close and used gold and silver reflectors with a ringlight I managed to get something that pleased me. I kept the focus sharp on the zigzags and angled the gold card on the silver base to produce a flame like glow.

Woman's Head-Leonardo da Vinci drawing (reproduction) on a card.
◾Leonardo da Vinci created this delightful drawing in the year 1473, in the very beginning of his career as an artist. It portrays a woman’s head leaning to the left side, and it was produced in ink on paper. As it’s the case of most of the ink-on-paper drawings, this piece rarely comes to public exhibition, for the vulnerability of its media. It is currently part of the amazing collection of Uffizi gallery, in Florence. ◾

In the classic game of Uno the wild card is a special card you can play on your turn regardless of the colour or number on the card at the top of the discard pile. You can also choose which colour continues the game.
The Macro Mondays theme for 2/28 is Card.
Being retired, I don't have a business card, so I guess this would be considered a calling card. I took the photo of Mt Tamalpais for the card from our front yard several years ago.
The Common Carder Bumblebee is one of two common bumblebees to have a ginger thorax. The other, the Tree Bumblebee has a white 'tail'. There are other less-common carder bees. Although the abdomen also has ginger bands but the hairless black bands tend to dominate. This species has a fairly long tongue and males can be distinguished from females by their longer antennae.
