Next to Leaves these are the next fave thing to photograph in the Autumn. Milkweed Seed pods. Captured today on my after work walk about. Another crazy windy day. Birds had to be bright for the camera to capture today as the dreary fog and drizzle never lifted. Sparrows blended right into the surrounding brush. Thank goodness this male cardinal came around.
captured today during a hike in the local woods; it's been a beautiful day, with the last bits of snow quickly melting away under the heat of the sun

A shot from Secretary's late analog phase, when he was just starting to look for subjects like the ones he still likes to capture today. The picture was taken in 1997 with a Leica CL on ILFORD HP5 PLUS, most likely in Karlsruhe, Germany.
While most captures today showing the moon which was phantastic, I do not want to forget our earth. We still have objects or silhouettes around us showing the distance we have to the moon.

Fish Farm Mounds is a fantastic place to find butterflies and moths. This awesome orange eastern comma was one of the closer captures today.
This capture in the last sequence I was able to capture today at the Susquehanna River was every slightly out of focus ... but I was able to recover it pretty well I think with the sharpening tools in Lightroom.
Thoughts?
It's very exciting for an Aussie to encounter snowfall, suffice to say this is just one of many images captured today on our drive from Banff to Jasper in beautiful Canada!
Seeing cardinals is always eye catching ... but in the snow takes that thrill and eye candy to the next level.
This one was captured today in our little snow storm around the Baltimore area.
I almost left with nothing too interesting today, but I was thrilled with these Snowy Egrets, just before packing it in! I really love the images I was able to capture today!
no treatment on the colors here....just as it was...
btw: there isn't any chance to get such a capture today - everything is grey in grey... (you can shoot all day because you don't get shadows... )

Captured today from the Trans-Canada Highway in BC, Canada
Rogers Pass is a high mountain pass through the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia, but the term also includes the approaches used by the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Trans-Canada Highway. In the heart of Glacier National Park, this National Historic Site has been a tourist destination since 1886. Wikipedia
My Dad and eldest daughter captured today with fill light using the catch light as part of the Speedlight, set at -1 EV.
What an incredible day I had today. I decided after making no plans and feeling bored at home to have a wee look at the weather report, fortunately for me it was reported to be dry in the Glen Etive area, so off I travelled in my car and into the west highlands of Scotland I went, this shot was the last one I captured today and for me possibly my favourite shot of the day.
This fantasy image consists of three individual real exposures i captured today: The trees, the sun and the glow. Mixed together with Photoshop and my Imagination. I hope you like it.
If somebody is interested in the EXIF Data from the Sun Layer: EF70-200mm f/2.8L with 2x Extender and ND3 Filter, at 400mm, ISO 50, 1/4000, f/14
A pair of gloves knitted for me by my cousin. I had some leg warmers to match, but I shrank them in the wash. Captured today for Smile on Saturday's theme "Gloves" - HSoS!
And the Egret said to his turtles . . .
I thought this was an interesting assembly of wildlife. Captured today at a golf course pond.
Another shot of a garden poppy that I captured today. I’d noticed that the wind had blown away the petals of most but then I spotted this in the shadows and the song ‘Lifted ( from the shadows ) by The Lighthouse People sprang to mind. Take a listen to it and I dare you not to feel uplifted by it 😊
Very difficult capture today, due to the fact this was constantly on the move, seeing was hazy and rough and I had a combine harvester chewing up the corn and dust for hours.

Today we went on a lovely long walk to make the most of our last Sunday in this glorious September sunshine before we travel. We walked the River Wey near Wisley, one of our favourite spots. We came across a flowering ivy bush which was covered in Red Admiral butterflies. I don't think I've seen so many in one place since my childhood where we had a buddleia in the garden which they loved. They were relatively easy to capture today as they were too busy concentrating on the sweet nectar, along with hover flies, honey bees and beetles. I could have watched them for hours, and would have done is husband was not getting a little bored...!
At El Ensueño, Quindío, Colombia.
The Yellow-backed Oriole (Icterus chrysater) captured today is similar to the Yellow Oriole that I posted a few days ago. The Yellow-backed Oriole (Icterus chrysater) is noticeably larger than the Yellow Oriole, has solid black wings (no wing bars), and has more black on the face and chin. We enjoy seeing both Oriole species, and both sing beautifully.,
The Yellow-backed Oriole (Icterus chrysater) is a medium-size Icterid in Belize, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela. Interesting to note that the species is absent from Costa Rica.

Cromer Pier again, a different angle this time and an iPhone image. I ran out of time again and the light was failing so I overlaid it with an ICM image of the sea and sky (also captured today) which brought it to life a bit more.
This may be the last Cromer pier image this year as the season is just about over.
|looking for light|
Here is some of the light I was able to see and capture today. Looking for light—both literally and figuratively—is often what I have to do in order to make it through each day. Today was no different, many times leaving me wondering how I would make it through the day. I’m thankful to have these images to look at when I need a reminder of the light God gave me today.

A happy spring dance that I spontaneously captured today across the street and duly slid in Color and Analog Efex for Sliders Sunday. There's a bedding of snowdrops in one of the front gardens in my street which reliably announces spring's arrival each year. Not that we needed that hint this past week because it has been beautifully warm and sunny, and only the chilly wind was a reminiscence of winter. Alas, temperatures will drop considerably again next week but let's be fair, March has only just begun.
One of my favourite filters in Color Efex is "Brilliance and Warmth" which has the "Perceptual Saturation" slider. The latter often brings out the most unexpected hues in an image. For a natural look, it's best to use it carefully, but here, it brought a cheerful, "bouncy" note to the image, and since it's Sliders Sunday, I went in a little bolder with that particular slider than I usually would.
The colour burst also corresponds well with the weirdly-coloured chromatic aberrations of the 20mm F/1.4 lens that I couldn't completely remove in LR. I don't know, if I got a de-centered or otherwise faulty copy back in 2020; in every other respect, the lens is beautiful, so I decided to see the chromatic aberrations as a special "characteristic" of that lens.
I also added a hint of fine, small grain in LR because LR Raw Denoising (not that the original image had been that noisy) made the image look too clean and therefore, a little "clinical".
Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone!
