Cap Khoboï
Extrémité nord de l’île d’Olkhone
Le cap Khoboï se trouve tout au nord de l’île d’Olkhone. Le mot « khoboï » signifie en bouriate « croc, dent mâchelière ». Il est vrai que les contours du cap ressemblent à un croc. Sa vue de côté évoque le profil d’une femme, c’est pourquoi on l'appelle parfois le cap la Roche Déva (la Roche Vierge).
Depuis des temps immémoriaux, le cap Khoboï était considéré comme un lieu sacré, on y organisait des cérémonies de culte.

My first crochet project and not perfect but its great to wear around the house on a chilly day. Pattern from the book "Cool Caps, Hip Hats". I modified it to make it not so big - took out a complete section and panel.

PenÃnsula al norte de la Costa Brava que reposa sobre niveles geológicos de más de 450 millones de años y que desde 1984 es considerada espacio natural protegido con la categorÃa de parque natural.
Abarca los municipios de El Port de la Selva, La Selva de Mar, Llançà , Cadaqués, Palau-saverdera, Pau, Roses y Vilajuïga. Forma un litoral extremadamente abrupto, de aguas profundas, con abundancia de islotes, altÃsimos acantilados, escollos de rocas descarnadas por la erosión y los vientos, prados y bosques en el interior, y escondidas calas de aguas transparentes, a menudo accesibles sólo por mar. Como punto más oriental de la penÃnsula Ibérica, es notorio el flujo de aves migratorias.
Destaca especialmente la singularidad de algunas rocas asociadas a formas de animales, que, con el paso del tiempo, han llegado a ser mÃticas; es el caso del águila de Tudela y el león del Cap Gros, o el de la roca de la isla de Culleró, situada frente a la cala del mismo nombre y que, al parecer, inspiró a Salvador Dalà en su obra El gran masturbador.

A peninsula in the north of the Costa Brava which sits on geological levels of more than 450 million years and which, since 1984, has been considered a natural protected open area under the category of natural park.
It covers the municipal areas of El Port de la Selva, La Selva de Mar, Llançà , Cadaqués, Palau-saverdera, Pau, Roses and Vilajuïga. It has a very abrupt coast, with deep waters, and plenty of tiny islands, very high cliffs, reefs of rocks made stark by erosion and the winds; meadows and forests inland and small hidden bays with transparent water, often only accessible from the sea. As the easternmost point of the Iberian Peninsula, it is notorious for the flow of migratory birds.
The singular nature of some rocks associated with the shapes of animals, which over time have become mythical, are specially noteworthy; this is the case of the eagle of Tudela and the lion of Cap Gros, or that of the rock on the islet of Culleró, in front of the small bay of the same name and which, it seems, inspired Salvador Dalà in his work "The Great Masturbator".

Here is my nex 3 with its industar-m lens cap, the lens pulled from an old soviet kiev spycamera. Pretty decent results from this lens. It performs along the lines of a toy camera with vignetting and focus mishaps, but the lens itself is actually quite capable, I just don't have a way to perfectly mount it, so i get the quirks. Doesn't quite cover the sensor as well, so the corners are all basically a loss, but i like it.
I remember reading an old lens chart that listed the industar-m as one of the sharpest lenses produced in any russian optics factory, but i can't find it for the life of me.
Milk cap for the game of "Pogs" from Hawai'i.
It was 1993 and the game of "Pogs", played with chipboard milk caps, was all the rage. The game was imported from Hawai'i, and swept the United States, heading East from California.
My son was in pre-school and loved Pogs. Then, in 1998, I moved to Hawaii, where you still received Pogs as give-aways, but could also find them by the bagful at the thrift stores. I have a vintage vinyl ice bucket filled with Pog-gy wonders.
